Chapter on What Has Been Reported Regarding Sacrifice on Behalf of the Deceased by His Bequest and Who Permitted Taking the Udhiyah of the Deceased
Hadith Number: 4716
عن حنش عن علي رضي الله عنه قال امرني رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم ان اضحي عنه بكبشين فانا احب ان افعله وقال محمد بن عبيد المحاربي في حديثه ضحى عنه بكبشين واحد عن النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم والآخر عنه فقيل له فقال إنه امرني فلا ادعه ابدا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered me to offer the sacrifice of two rams on his behalf, so I wish to do this act. Muhammad bin Ubaid Muharibi said in his narration: He offered the sacrifice of two rams, one on behalf of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the other on his own behalf. When he was asked about this, he said: Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered me, so I will never abandon it.
