Section on What Has Been Reported Regarding Command and Prohibition Concerning Fara' and 'Atirah
Hadith Number: 4723
عن ابي رزين رضي الله عنه انه قال يا رسول الله إنا كنا نذبح في رجب ذبائح فناكل منها ونطعم منها من جاءنا قال فقال له رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم لا باس بذلك فقال وكيع لا ادعها ابدا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Razin (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: O Messenger of Allah! Indeed, we used to slaughter animals in the month of Rajab, we would eat from them ourselves and also feed those who came to us. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is no harm in doing so. The narrator Waki’ says: I will never abandon this practice.
