It is narrated from Sayyiduna ‘Irbaad bin Saariyah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took a hair from a bunch of hair from the spoils of war and said: My share from this booty is the same as the share of any one of you, except for the khumus, and that too will be returned to you. Therefore, give everything, even a thread and a needle and anything smaller or greater than them, and avoid dishonesty, for indeed dishonesty will be a cause of disgrace, shame, and humiliation for the dishonest person on the Day of Resurrection.
