Chapter on the Prohibition of Stealing from the Spoils, the Severity of Its Sin, Burning the Belongings of the Thief, and What Has Been Reported Regarding Looting
Hadith Number: 5082
It is narrated from Sayyiduna ‘Ubada bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not commit treachery, for treachery is a cause of fire and disgrace in this world and the Hereafter for the traitor. Strive in jihad for the sake of Allah, whether near or far, and do not care about the blame of any blamer for the sake of Allah. Uphold the limits of Allah in both residence and travel, and strive in the path of Allah. Indeed, the greatest of the gates of Paradise is jihad; through it, Allah grants deliverance from grief and sorrow.
