Chapter on Using Discretion in Oaths, Dissembling, and Referring to Intention
Hadith Number: 5315
عنه من طريق ثان عن النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم قال إذا حلف الرجل فقال إن شاء الله فهو بالخيار إن شاء فليمض وإن شاء فليترك
(Second chain) The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When a servant takes an oath and says "Insha’Allah" (if Allah wills) as an exception, then he is given the choice; if he wishes, he may fulfill the oath, and if he wishes, he may break it.
