Chapter: What has been reported regarding seeking exposure (to Allah’s mercy), its forms, and its virtue
Hadith Number: 5688
حدثنا انس بن مالك رضي الله عنه ان النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم كان يقول اللهم إني اعوذ بك من العجز والكسل والجبن والهرم والبخل وعذاب القبر واعوذ بك من فتنة المحيا والممات
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to supplicate: "O Allah! Indeed, I seek refuge in You from incapacity, laziness, cowardice, extreme old age, miserliness, and the punishment of the grave, and I seek refuge in You from the trials of life and death."
