باب الترغيب فى الحياء وإنه لا يأتى إلا بخير
Chapter on encouragement to modesty and that it only brings good
Hadith Number: 9230
عن قتادة قال سمعت ابا السوار العدوي يحدث انه سمع عمران بن حصين الخزاعي يحدث عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم فقال ((الحياء لا ياتي إلا بخير)) فقال بشير بن كعب مكتوب في الحكمة إن منه وقارا ومنه سكينة فقال عمران احدثك عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم وتحدثني عن صحفك
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Modesty brings nothing but goodness and virtue. Basheer bin Ka’b said: It is written in wisdom that some forms of modesty are a cause of dignity and some a cause of tranquility. Sayyiduna Imran (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I am narrating to you from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and you are narrating from your scriptures.
