It is narrated from ‘Awf bin Harith, who was the maternal nephew of Sayyidah Aisha, that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with them both) said regarding some transaction or gift about Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her):“By Allah! Either Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) will desist, or I will impose a restriction upon her.”Sayyidah asked:“Did he really say this?”He replied:“Yes.”Sayyidah said:“I vow to Allah that I will never speak to Ibn Zubair.”Then Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with them both) requested Sayyiduna Miswar bin Makhramah and Abdur Rahman bin Aswad bin ‘Abd Yaghuth (may Allah be pleased with them both) to intercede with Sayyidah on his behalf. These two men were from the Banu Zuhrah tribe, … … , then Miswar and Abdur Rahman began to plead with Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), insisting that she must speak to him and accept his apology, and they also told Sayyidah that:“You know that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has forbidden severing ties, and it is not permissible for any Muslim to cut off relations with his brother for more than three days.”
