Chapter of Seeking Refuge - Recommendation to seek refuge in Allah from useless prayer and insatiable soul
Hadith Number: 1015
اخبرنا عبد الله بن احمد بن موسى ، بعسكر مكرم، قال: حدثنا هريم بن عبد الاعلى ، قال: حدثنا معتمر بن سليمان ، قال: سمعت ابي ، يقول: حدثنا انس بن مالك ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، انه قال: " اللهم إني اعوذ بك من نفس لا تشبع، واعوذ بك من صلاة لا تنفع، واعوذ بك من دعاء لا يسمع، واعوذ بك من قلب لا يخشع" .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say: (that is, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite this supplication) "O Allah! I seek refuge in You from a soul that is never satisfied, and I seek refuge in You from a prayer that is of no benefit, and I seek refuge in You from a supplication that is not heard, and I seek refuge in You from a heart that has no humility."
