Chapter on Fasting While Traveling - Clarifying that both fasting and breaking the fast while traveling are permissible
Hadith Number: 3562
اخبرنا ابو خليفة ، قال: حدثنا ابو الوليد ، قال: حدثنا شعبة ، عن قتادة ، عن ابي نضرة ، عن ابي سعيد الخدري ، قال:" خرجنا مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم لسبع عشرة حين فتح مكة، فصام صائمون، وافطر مفطرون، فلم يعب هؤلاء على هؤلاء، ولا هؤلاء على هؤلاء" .
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We set out with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) on the seventeenth of (the month of) Ramadan; this was the occasion when Makkah was conquered. Some people were fasting and some people were not fasting, and neither group objected to the other.
