Section on Fasting the Days of Tashreeq - Reason for the prohibition of fasting these days
Hadith Number: 3603
اخبرنا الحسن بن سفيان ، قال: حدثنا سعد بن يزيد الفراء ، قال: حدثنا موسى بن علي بن رباح ، عن ابيه ، عن عقبة بن عامر، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: " يوم عرفة، ويوم النحر، وايام التشريق هن عيدنا اهل الإسلام، هن ايام اكل وشرب" .
Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "The Day of Arafah, the Day of Sacrifice, and the Days of Tashreeq—these are our, the people of Islam's, Eid. These are days of eating and drinking."
