Hadith Number: 5298
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Busr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by my father. At that time, he was riding a white mule. My father held its rein and said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Please stay at my place. So the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed at their place. The narrator says: They brought hais (a dish made of dates, clarified butter, and cheese) to serve the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and those people ate it. Then they brought dates, so the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) started eating the dates and began turning over their pits like this. Here, the narrator named Shu’bah joined two fingers together to demonstrate. Then a drink was presented to him, so the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) drank it. Then he passed it to the person on his right side. Then he supplicated:“O Allah! Bless the sustenance You have provided them, forgive them, and have mercy on them.”
