Chapter on Disliked Listening, Suspicion, Anger, and Foul Speech – On the instruction to sit if angry while standing, and to lie down if sitting
Hadith Number: 5688
اخبرنا ابو يعلى ، قال: حدثنا سريج بن يونس ، قال: حدثنا ابو معاوية ، قال: حدثنا داود بن ابي هند ، عن ابي حرب بن ابي الاسود ، عن ابي ذر ، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: " إذا غضب احدكم وهو قائم، فليجلس، فإن ذهب عنه الغضب، وإلا فليضطجع" .
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "When a person becomes angry and he is standing, he should sit down. If his anger subsides, then fine; otherwise, he should lie down."
