Chapter on Disliked and Permissible Speech – On clarifying that the blame for insults is on the initiator
Hadith Number: 5729
اخبرنا ابو خليفة ، حدثنا موسى بن إسماعيل ، حدثنا إسماعيل بن جعفر ، عن العلاء بن عبد الرحمن ، عن ابيه ، عن ابي هريرة، ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " إن المستبين ما قالا، فهو على البادئ ما لم يعتد المظلوم" .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Whenever two people abuse each other, whatever they say, its burden is upon the one who started it, as long as the oppressed does not exceed the limits."
