Chapter on Joking and Laughing – Clarifying that Anjasha was the Prophet’s servant
Hadith Number: 5803
اخبرنا الحسن بن سفيان ، قال: حدثنا محمد بن عبيد بن حساب ، قال: اخبرنا حماد بن زيد ، عن ثابت ، عن انس ، وايوب ، عن ابي قلابة ، عن انس ، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم كان في مسير له ومعه غلام له اسود يقال له: انجشة، وهو يحدو، فقال له رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:" يا انجشة، رويدا سوقك القوارير"، يعني: النساء .
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was traveling, and with him was a black slave whose name was Anjasha. He was reciting poetry to urge the camels on. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "O Anjasha, go gently, you are carrying glass vessels." The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) meant that he was carrying women.
