Imam Sha’bi narrates this statement of Sayyidah Fatimah bint Qais (may Allah be pleased with her): The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) came quickly and ascended the pulpit. He announced among the people,“Gather together,”so the people gathered. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“O people, I have not called you together out of any desire or because of any distress that has come upon me. However, Tamim Dari has informed me that some people from Palestine set out on a sea voyage, and the wind carried them to an island in the sea. There was an animal there, and it could not be determined whether it was male or female because its body was covered with so much hair. So I asked: ‘Who are you?’ It replied: ‘I am Jassasah.’ The people said: ‘Tell us about something.’ It said: ‘I will not tell you about anything, nor will I ask you about anything. However, there is a man there who is in need of informing you about something and also needs to ask you about something.’ So they came to a place of worship, where there was a man bound in iron chains. He asked: ‘Who are you?’ They replied: ‘We are Arabs.’ He asked: ‘Has the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) been sent?’ They replied: ‘Yes.’ He asked: ‘Have the Arabs followed him?’ They replied: ‘Yes!’ He said: ‘That is better for them.’ Then he asked: ‘What is the condition of the people of Persia?’ They replied: ‘They have not yet overcome him.’ He said: ‘Soon they will overcome the people of Persia.’ Then he asked: ‘What is the condition of the spring of Zughar?’ They replied: ‘Its banks are full.’ He asked: ‘What is the condition of the date palms of Baisan?’ They replied: ‘They are bearing fruit.’ Then that man leapt up, to the extent that we feared he would overpower (i.e., free) himself. We asked: ‘Who are you?’ He said: ‘I am the Dajjal. I will traverse the entire face of the earth, except for Makkah and Taybah (i.e., Madinah), I will not be able to enter them.’

(The narrator says:) The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“O group of Muslims, rejoice! This (Madinah Munawwarah) is Taybah; he (the Dajjal) will not enter it.”
