Chapter: Description of the Pre-Islamic Oath (Cooperation Agreement)
Hadith Number: 1585
حدثنا حميد بن مسعدة، حدثنا يزيد بن زريع، حدثنا حسين المعلم، عن عمرو بن شعيب، عن ابيه، عن جده، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال في خطبته: " اوفوا بحلف الجاهلية، فإنه لا يزيده، يعني: الإسلام، إلا شدة، ولا تحدثوا حلفا في الإسلام "، قال: وفي الباب، عن عبد الرحمن بن عوف، وام سلمة، وجبير بن مطعم، وابي هريرة، وابن عباس، وقيس بن عاصم، قال ابو عيسى: هذا حديث حسن صحيح.
'Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said in his sermon: "Fulfill the alliances (pacts of cooperation) of the pre-Islamic era, for they only strengthen Islam, and do not make any new pact of cooperation in Islam." __QUR_N__ Imam Tirmidhi says:
