Prayer Should Be Performed with Humility and Devotion
Hadith Number: 188
404- مالك عن علقمة بن ابى علقمة عن امه عن عائشة ام المؤمنين انها قالت: اهدى ابو جهم بن حذيفة لرسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم خميصة شامية لها علم، فشهد فيها الصلاة، فلما انصرف قال: ”ردي هذه الخميصة إلى ابى جهم، فإني نظرت إلى علمها فى الصلاة فكاد يفتنني.“
It is narrated from Umm al-Mu'minin Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that Abu Juham bin Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) presented to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) a Syrian cloak which had designs on it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to pray in it, then after the salam he said: "Return this cloak to Abu Juham, for I looked at its designs during the prayer and it nearly distracted me from my humility."
تخریج الحدیث: «404- الموطأ (رواية يحييٰي بن يحييٰي97/1، 98 ح 216، ك 3 ب 18 ح 67) التمهيد 108/20، الاستذكار: 189، و أخرجه أحمد (177/6) من حديث مالك به وصححه ابن حبان (الموارد: 2332) قالو ا: سقط قوله ”أمه“ من السند فى رواية يحيي وهو موجود فى نسخننا من الموطأ (رواية يحيي) والله اعلم.»
قال الشيخ زبير على زئي:سنده صحيح
