The Book of Fasting
باب كراهية صيام يوم الجمعة منفردا:
Chapter: It is disliked to single out Friday for fasting, unless it coincides with a day that one customarily fasts

حدثنا عمرو الناقد ، حدثنا سفيان بن عيينة ، عن عبد الحميد بن جبير ، عن محمد بن عباد بن جعفر ، سالت جابر بن عبد الله رضي الله عنهما، وهو يطوف بالبيت انهى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عن صيام يوم الجمعة؟، فقال: " نعم ورب هذا البيت "،
Muhammad bin 'Abad. Ja'far reported: I asked Jabir bin 'Abdullah (Allah be pleased with both of them) as he was circumambulating the House (Ka’bah) whether the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) had forbidden the fasting on Friday, whereupon he said: Yes, by the Lord of this House.

وحدثنا محمد بن رافع ، حدثنا عبد الرزاق ، اخبرنا ابن جريج ، اخبرني عبد الحميد بن جبير بن شيبة ، انه اخبره محمد بن عباد بن جعفر ، انه سال جابر بن عبد الله رضي الله عنهما، بمثله عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم.
Muhammad bin 'Abad. Ja'far reported that he asked Jabir bin'Abdullah (RA) , whether he had heard like this from the Apostle of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) .
