Jarir bin 'Abdullah narrated: " I pledged to the Prophet to establish the Salat, give the Zakat, and to give sincere advice to every Muslim."

'Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) says that we used to pledge allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to listen and obey (that is, to listen to your command and obey you), then he would say to us: "As much as you are able." Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- This hadith is Hasan Sahih,
2- The meaning of the hadith of Jabir and the hadith of Salamah bin Al-Akwa' (may Allah be pleased with them both) is correct (there is no contradiction in them). Some companions pledged allegiance to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) unto death; they said: We will continue to fight before you until we are killed, and other people, when pledging allegiance to you, said: We will not flee.
