Issues of Buying and Selling
It is not permissible to sell goods without possession
Hadith Number: 499
238- وبه: عن عبد الله بن عمر ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: ”من ابتاع طعاما فلا يبعه حتى يستوفيه.“
And with the same chain of narration, it is reported from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever buys food (grain), he should not sell it further until he has taken full possession of it."

239- وبه: انه قال: كنا فى زمان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم نبتاع الطعام فيبعث علينا من يامرنا بانتقاله من المكان الذى ابتعناه فيه إلى مكان سواه قبل ان نبيعه.
And with this same chain (it is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both) that in the time of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, we used to buy food (grain, produce), so he, peace and blessings be upon him, would send a man to us and command that before selling it again, we should move it from the place where we bought it to another place.

Hadith Number: 501
287- وبه: ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: ”من ابتاع طعاما فلا يبعه حتى يقبضه.“
And with the same chain of narration (from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both), it is narrated that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever buys food (grain, etc.), he should not sell it further until he has taken possession of it."
