مقدمه
Introduction
باب مَنْ طَلَبَ الْعِلْمَ بِغَيْرِ نِيَّةٍ فَرَدَّهُ الْعِلْمُ إِلَى النِّيَّةِ:
Chapter: Whoever Seeks Knowledge Without Proper Intention, Knowledge Will Lead Him Back to Intention
Hadith Number: 369
اخبرنا عبد الله بن عمران، حدثنا يحيى بن يمان، قال: سمعت سفيان منذ اربعين سنة، قال: "ما كان طلب الحديث افضل منه اليوم، قالوا لسفيان: إنهم يطلبونه بغير نية؟، قال: طلبهم إياه نية".
Yahya bin Yaman said: I heard Sufyan, may Allah have mercy on him, saying for forty years: Seeking hadith has never been more virtuous than it is today. People asked Sufyan, may Allah have mercy on him: People seek hadith without intention. He said: Their seeking itself is the intention.

Hadith Number: 370
اخبرنا عبد الله بن سعيد، حدثنا عبد الله بن الاجلح، حدثني ابي، عن مجاهد، قال: "طلبنا هذا العلم وما لنا فيه كبير نية، ثم رزق الله بعد فيه النية".
Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) said: We sought this knowledge without any great intention, then Allah the Exalted later granted us (righteous) intention.

Hadith Number: 371
اخبرنا بشر بن ثابت البزار، حدثنا حسان بن مسلم، عن يونس بن عبيد، عن الحسن، قال: "لقد طلب اقوام العلم، ما ارادوا به الله تعالي ولا ما عنده، قال: فما زال بهم العلم، حتى ارادوا به الله وما عنده".
Imam Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) said: People sought knowledge even though, by means of it, they did not intend Allah nor what is with Allah. He said: They continued to acquire knowledge until their intention became sincere, and they intended Allah and what is with Allah.
