حَدِیث عَبدِ اللَّهِ بنِ الزّبَیرِ بنِ العَوَّامِ رَضِیَ اللَّه تَعَالَى عَنه
Hadith of 'Abd Allah ibn al-Zubayr ibn al-'Awwam (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith Number: 16107
(حديث مرفوع) حدثنا معمر بن سليمان الرقي ، قال: حدثنا الحجاج ، عن فرات بن عبد الله وهو فرات القزاز ، عن سعيد بن جبير ، قال: كنت جالسا عند عبد الله بن عتبة بن مسعود، وكان ابن الزبير جعله على القضاء، إذ جاءه كتاب ابن الزبير : سلام عليك اما بعد، فإنك كتبت تسالني عن الجد، وإن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال:" لو كنت متخذا من هذه الامة خليلا دون ربي عز وجل لاتخذت ابن ابي قحافة 63، ولكنه اخي في الدين وصاحبي في الغار" جعل الجد ابا، واحق ما اخذناه قول ابي بكر الصديق رضي الله عنه.
Saeed bin Jubair says that once I was sitting with Abdullah bin Uqbah bin Masood when a letter from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zubair arrived. Sayyiduna Ibn Zubair had appointed him as a judge on his behalf. In this letter, it was written that after praise and blessings, you have written to me to inquire about the ruling concerning the grandfather. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) once said: If I were to take anyone from this Ummah as my close friend besides my Lord, I would have taken Ibn Abi Quhafah, but he is my religious brother and companion of the cave. Sayyiduna Siddiq Akbar considered the grandfather as the father, and the truth is that the opinion which seemed closest to reality to us in this matter is indeed that of Sayyiduna Siddiq Akbar.

Hadith Number: 16108
(حديث موقوف) حدثنا يعقوب بن إبراهيم ، قال: حدثنا ابي ، عن ابن إسحاق ، قال: فحدثني وهب بن كيسان مولى ابن الزبير، قال: سمعت عبد الله بن الزبير في يوم العيد، يقول: حين صلى قبل الخطبة، ثم قام يخطب الناس" يا ايها الناس كلا سنة الله، وسنة رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم".
Wahb bin Kaysan says that I heard Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zubair on the day of Eid, before the sermon, performing the prayer and then standing and addressing the people, saying: "O people, all of this is according to the Sunnah of Allah and His Prophet (peace be upon him)."

Hadith Number: 16109
(حديث مرفوع) حدثنا ابو سلمة الخزاعي ، حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن ابي الموالي ، قال: اخبرني نافع بن ثابت ، عن عبد الله بن الزبير ، قال: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم" إذا صلى العشاء، ركع اربع ركعات، واوتر بسجدة، ثم نام حتى يصلي بعد صلاته بالليل".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zubair that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would perform the Isha prayer, he would then offer four rak'ahs and perform witr with one prostration, then he would sleep. After that, he would wake up at night and perform prayer.

Hadith Number: 16110
(حديث مرفوع) حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد ، عن هشام ، قال: اخبرني ابي ، عن عبد الله بن الزبير ، ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال:" لا تحرم من الرضاع المصة والمصتان".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zubair that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The prohibition of suckling is not established by one or two sips.

Hadith Number: 16111
(حديث مرفوع) حدثنا عارم ، قال: حدثنا عبد الله بن المبارك ، قال: حدثنا مصعب بن ثابت ، قال: حدثنا عامر بن عبد الله بن الزبير ، عن ابيه ، قال: قدمت قتيلة ابنة عبد العزى بن عبد اسعد من بني مالك بن حسل على ابنتها اسماء ابنة ابي بكر بهدايا، ضباب واقط وسمن وهي مشركة، فابت اسماء ان تقبل هديتها وتدخلها بيتها، فسالت عائشة النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، فانزل الله عز وجل لا ينهاكم الله عن الذين لم يقاتلوكم في الدين سورة الممتحنة آية 8 إلى آخر الآية،" فامرها ان تقبل هديتها، وان تدخلها بيتها".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Zubair that once Qutaylah bint Abd al-Uzza, while she was still in a state of disbelief and polytheism, came to her daughter Sayyidah Asma bint Abi Bakr with some gifts, such as a lizard, cheese, and ghee. Sayyidah Asma refused to accept her gifts and did not like her mother, who was in a state of polytheism, to enter her house. Sayyidah Aisha asked the Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) about this issue, so Allah revealed this verse: "Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion..." Then the Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) ordered her to accept her mother's gift and to allow her into her house.

Hadith Number: 16112
(حديث مرفوع) حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد ، عن ابن جريج ، عن ابن ابي مليكة ، عن ابن الزبير ، قال: إن الذي قال له رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:" لو كنت متخذا خليلا سوى الله عز وجل حتى القاه لاتخذت ابا بكر" جعل الجد ابا.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zubair that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) once said regarding that person: If I were to take anyone from this Ummah as my close friend (khalil) other than my Lord, I would have taken Ibn Abi Quhafah. They have considered the grandfather as the father.

(حديث مرفوع) حدثنا يونس ، قال: حدثنا حماد يعني ابن زيد ، عن هشام بن عروة ، عن ابيه ، عن عبد الله بن الزبير ، ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال:" لكل نبي حواري، وحواري الزبير وابن عمتي".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zubair that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every prophet has a disciple, and my disciple is my paternal cousin Zubair.

حدثنا سليمان بن حرب ، قال: حدثنا حماد بن زيد مرسل، ليس فيه ابن الزبير.
Sulaiman ibn Harb narrated to us, he said: Hammad ibn Zayd narrated to us, mursal, in which Ibn al-Zubayr is not mentioned.

Hadith Number: 16116
(حديث مرفوع) حدثنا هاشم بن القاسم ، قال: حدثنا ليث بن سعد ، قال: وحدثني ابن شهاب ، عن عروة بن الزبير ، عن عبد الله بن الزبير ، قال: خاصم رجل من الانصار الزبير إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في شراج الحرة التي يسقون بها النخل، فقال الانصاري للزبير: سرح الماء، فابى، فكلم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:" اسق يا زبير، ثم ارسل إلى جارك"، فغضب الانصاري، فقال: يا رسول الله، ان كان ابن عمتك؟ فتلون وجهه، ثم قال:" احبس الماء حتى يبلغ إلى الجدر"، قال الزبير: والله إني لاحسب هذه الآية نزلت في ذلك فلا وربك لا يؤمنون حتى يحكموك فيما شجر بينهم سورة النساء آية 65 إلى قوله ويسلموا تسليما سورة النساء آية 65.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zubair that once Sayyiduna Zubair had a dispute with an Ansari regarding the water channel through which they irrigated their fields. The Ansari said, "Let the water flow," but Sayyiduna Zubair was not willing to let the water flow before irrigating his own garden. The Ansari spoke to the Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ). The Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) said: "Zubair, irrigate your field and then let the water flow for your neighbor." At this, the Ansari became angry and said, "O Messenger of Allah! He is your cousin, isn't he?" The face of the Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) changed upon hearing this, and he said, "Hold the water until it reaches the ankles." Sayyiduna Zubair says, "By Allah, I think this verse was revealed regarding this incident: 'But no, by your Lord, they will not [truly] believe until they make you, [O Muhammad] , judge concerning that over which they dispute among themselves.'"
