Remaining Hadith of 'Amr ibn al-'As from the Prophet (peace be upon him)
Hadith Number: 17821
It is narrated from Hazrat Amr bin Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once he heard a man reciting a verse of the Holy Qur'an, so he asked him, "Who taught you this verse?" He replied, "The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did." He said, "The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) taught me this verse in a different way." So both of them went to the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). One of them referred to the verse and recited it. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "This verse was revealed in this way." The other recited it according to his own way and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), was this verse not revealed in this way?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "It was revealed in this way as well." Then he said, "This Holy Qur'an has been revealed upon seven letters. Whichever letter you recite according to, you will recite correctly. Therefore, do not dispute in the Holy Qur'an, for disputing in the Qur'an is disbelief."

Hazrat Amr bin Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) once sought permission to meet Hazrat Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her). Hazrat Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) granted him permission. He asked, "Is Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) here?" She replied, "No." Upon this, he left. The second time, Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was present, so he went inside. Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) asked him the reason for seeking permission, so Hazrat Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade us from going to women without the husband's permission.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to Hazrat Amr (may Allah be pleased with him), "O Amr! Decide between them." He submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! (peace be upon him) Are you not more deserving of this than me?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "O Amr! Decide between them." He submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! (peace be upon him) Are you not more deserving of this than me?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Even so, I command you to do this." He said, "If I decide between them, what reward will I get?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "If you decide between them and are correct, you will get ten good deeds, and if you strive but make a mistake in the decision, you will get one good deed."
