مُسْنَدُ الْأَنْصَارِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ
Musnad of the Ansar
وَمِنْ حَدِيثِ ثَوْبَانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
And from the hadith of Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith Number: 22362
حدثنا حسن , وحجاج , قالا: حدثنا ابن لهيعة ، حدثنا ابو قبيل ، قال: سمعت ابا عبد الرحمن المقرئ ، يقول: قال حجاج: عن ابي قبيل، حدثني ابو عبد الرحمن الجبلاني، انه سمع ثوبان مولى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، يقول: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، يقول " ما احب ان لي الدنيا وما فيها بهذه الآية يا عبادي الذين اسرفوا على انفسهم لا تقنطوا من رحمة الله إن الله يغفر الذنوب جميعا إنه هو الغفور الرحيم سورة الزمر آية 53" , فقال رجل: يا رسول الله، فمن اشرك؟ فسكت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، ثم قال:" إلا من اشرك، إلا من اشرك" ثلاث مرات.
It is narrated from Hazrat Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: Even if I were given the world and whatever is in it in exchange for this verse, I would not like it: "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves..." A man asked, "O Messenger of Allah! What is the ruling for one who commits shirk (associates partners with Allah)?" At this, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent. Then after a short while, he said three times, "Except for the polytheist."

Hadith Number: 22363
حدثنا عبد الصمد ، حدثني ابي ، حدثنا محمد بن جحادة ، حدثني حميد الشامي ، عن سليمان المنبهي ، عن ثوبان مولى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا سافر آخر عهده بإنسان من اهله فاطمة، واول من يدخل عليه إذا قدم فاطمة، قال: فقدم من غزاة له فاتاها، فإذا هو يمسح على بابها، وراى على الحسن , والحسين قلبين من فضة، فرجع ولم يدخل عليها فلما رات ذلك فاطمة ظنت انه لم يدخل عليها من اجل ما راى، فهتكت الستر، ونزعت القلبين من الصبيين، فقطعتهما، فبكى الصبيان، فقسمته بينهما، فانطلقا إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وهما يبكيان، فاخذه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم منهما، فقال:" يا ثوبان، اذهب بهذا إلى بني فلان اهل بيت بالمدينة، واشتر لفاطمة قلادة من عصب، وسوارين من عاج، فإن هؤلاء اهل بيتي، ولا احب ان ياكلوا طيباتهم في حياتهم الدنيا" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) set out on a journey, the last person from his family whom he would meet was Hazrat Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), and when he returned from a journey, the first person he would visit was also Hazrat Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her). Once, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned from a battle and, as usual, went to Hazrat Fatimah’s (may Allah be pleased with her) house. When he arrived, he saw a curtain at the door of the house and silver bangles on the hands of Hasan and Husain (may Allah be pleased with them). The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned back without entering the house. Hazrat Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) realized that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had turned back after seeing these things, so she tore the curtain and broke the bangles off the children’s hands. The two children began to cry and, while crying, went to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took the bangles—which Hazrat Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) had given to them—and said to Hazrat Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him): O Thawban! Take these to the house of so-and-so (referring to a family among the people of Madinah) and buy a Yemeni necklace and two ivory bangles for Fatimah, for these people are my Ahl al-Bayt, and I do not want them to consume their good things in this world, even if they are lawful.

Hadith Number: 22364
حدثنا إسحاق بن عيسى , وابو اليمان , وهذا حديث إسحاق , قالا: حدثنا إسماعيل بن عياش ، عن راشد بن داود الاملوكي ، عن ابي اسماء الرحبي ، عن ثوبان مولى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في مسير له: " إنا مدلجون، فلا يدلجن مصعب ولا مضعف" , فادلج رجل على ناقة له صعبة فسقط، فاندقت فخذه فمات، فامر رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بالصلاة عليه، ثم امر مناديا ينادي في الناس:" إن الجنة لا تحل لعاص، إن الجنة لا تحل لعاص" ثلاث مرات.
It is narrated from Hazrat Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, during one of his journeys, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "We will set out on the journey at night, so no one should ride on a wild or weak animal." Despite this instruction, a man mounted a rebellious she-camel. Along the way, he fell somewhere, his thigh bone broke, and he died. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed the people to perform his funeral prayer themselves, then ordered a caller to announce among the people: "Paradise is not lawful for any disobedient person." He said this three times.

Hadith Number: 22365
حدثنا ابو المغيرة ، حدثنا الاوزاعي ، عن ابي عمار شداد ، عن ابي اسماء الرحبي ، عن ثوبان مولى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا اراد ان ينصرف من صلاته، استغفر ثلاث مرات، ثم قال: " اللهم انت السلام، ومنك السلام، تباركت يا ذا الجلال والإكرام" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) finished the prayer, he would seek forgiveness three times and then make this supplication: O Allah! You are the True Source of peace, and from You alone comes peace. O Possessor of Majesty and Honor! Your Being is greatly blessed.

Hadith Number: 22366
حدثنا اسود بن عامر ، حدثنا شريك ، عن عاصم ، عن ابي العالية ، عن ثوبان ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: " من يتكفل لي بواحدة واتكفل له بالجنة؟" قال ثوبان: انا، قال:" لا تسال الناس" , يعني شيئا، قال: نعم , قال: فكان لا يسال.
It is narrated from Hazrat Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever guarantees me one thing, I guarantee him Paradise. Hazrat Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) offered himself. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not ask people for anything. He submitted: Alright. Thus, after that, he never asked anyone for anything.

Hadith Number: 22367
حدثنا حسين بن محمد ، حدثنا ابن عياش ، عن محمد بن المهاجر ، عن العباس بن سالم اللخمي ، قال: بعث عمر بن عبد العزيز إلى ابي سلام الحبشي ، فحمل إليه على البريد يساله عن الحوض، فقدم به عليه، فساله، فقال: سمعت ثوبان ، يقول: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، يقول:" إن حوضي من عدن إلى عمان البلقاء، ماؤه اشد بياضا من اللبن، واحلى من العسل، واكاويبه عدد النجوم، من شرب منه شربة لم يظما بعدها ابدا، اول الناس ورودا عليه فقراء المهاجرين" , فقال عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله تعالى عنه: من هم يا رسول الله؟ قال:" هم الشعث رءوسا، الدنس ثيابا، الذين لا ينكحون المتنعمات ولا تفتح لهم ابواب السدد" , فقال عمر بن عبد العزيز: لقد نكحت المتنعمات، وفتحت لي السدد إلا ان يرحمني الله، والله لا جرم ان لا ادهن راسي حتى يشعث، ولا اغسل ثوبي الذي يلي جسدي حتى يتسخ.
Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz, may Allah have mercy on him, once sent a message through a courier to Abu Salam Habashi, may Allah have mercy on him. He wanted to ask Abu Salam about the Hawd (Pond) of Kawthar. So he came. Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz, may Allah have mercy on him, asked him about it. He said, "I heard this hadith from Hazrat Thawban, may Allah be pleased with him, that I heard the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, say: 'The length and width of my Hawd is as much as the distance between Aden and Amman Balqa. Its water will be whiter than milk and sweeter than honey. Its cups will be as numerous as the stars in the sky. Whoever drinks a sip from it will never feel thirsty again. The first to come to this Hawd will be the poor Muhajireen.' Hazrat Umar Farooq, may Allah be pleased with him, upon hearing this, submitted in the court of the Prophet, 'O Messenger of Allah! Who will those people be?' The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, replied, 'They will be those whose hair is disheveled and whose clothes are dirty, who could not marry women brought up in luxury, and for whom closed doors are not opened.' Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz, may Allah have mercy on him, upon hearing this, said, 'I have married women brought up in luxury, and closed doors are opened for me. Now only Allah can have mercy on me. By Allah, from now on I will not apply oil to my head until it becomes disheveled, and I will not wash the clothes I wear on my body until they become dirty.'"

حكم دارالسلام: صحيح دون قوله: أول الناس المهاجرين....، وهذا إسناد ضعيف، العباس بن سالم لم يسمع الحديث من أبى سلام، لكنه توبع، وأبو سلام لم يسمع من ثوبان
Hadith Number: 22368
حدثنا يحيى بن إسحاق من كتابه، حدثنا ابن لهيعة ، حدثنا شيخ ، عن ثوبان مولى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، انه سمع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، يقول: " من قتل صغيرا او كبيرا، او احرق نخلا، او قطع شجرة مثمرة، او ذبح شاة لإهابها، لم يرجع كفافا" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: Whoever kills a minor child or an extremely elderly man in the battlefield, or sets fire to a garden, or cuts down a fruit-bearing tree, or slaughters a goat merely to obtain its skin, then he has not returned equally (i.e., he has not returned with equal recompense).

حكم دارالسلام: إسناده ضعيف، ابن لهيعة سيئ الحفظ، وشيخه لم يسمّه
Hadith Number: 22369
حدثنا عفان ، حدثنا همام , وابان , قالا: حدثنا قتادة ، عن سالم ، عن معدان ، عن ثوبان ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: " من فارق الروح الجسد وهو بريء من ثلاث، دخل الجنة الكبر، والدين، والغلول" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever's soul departs from his body in such a state that he is free from three things will enter Paradise: arrogance, debt, and dishonesty regarding war booty.

Hadith Number: 22370
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر ، حدثنا شعبة ، عن عمرو بن مرة ، عن سالم بن ابي الجعد ، قال: قيل لثوبان , حدثنا عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم , فقال: تكذبون علي! وقال: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، يقول: " ما من مسلم يسجد لله سجدة إلا رفعه الله بها درجة، او حط عنه بها خطيئة" .
Salim bin Abi Al-Ja'd (may Allah have mercy on him) says that a person asked Hazrat Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) to narrate a hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He replied, "You people attribute lies to me as you do to others. I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'Whenever any Muslim performs a prostration for the sake of Allah's pleasure, Allah raises him one degree and forgives one of his sins.'"

Hadith Number: 22371
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر ، حدثنا شعبة ، عن قتادة ، عن شهر بن حوشب ، عن عبد الرحمن بن غنم ، عن ثوبان مولى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: " افطر الحاجم والمحجوم" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The fast of both the one who applies cupping and the one to whom it is applied is broken.
