حدثنا سفيان ، قال: حدثنا صفوان بن سليم ، عن عطاء بن يسار ، قال: جاء رجل إلى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقال: يا رسول الله! صلى الله عليك، هل علي جناح ان اكذب اهلي؟ قال:" لا، فلا يحب الله الكذب"، قال: يا رسول الله! استصلحها واستطيب نفسها؟ قال:" لا جناح عليك" .
Ata bin Yasar reports: A man came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! May Allah send mercy upon you, will it be a sin for me if I lie to my wife? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No! But Allah does not like lying." He said: O Messenger of Allah! I do so to make peace with her, or to please her. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then there will be no sin upon you."
