Wahb bin Abdullah narrates from his father, who narrates from his grandfather: On the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage, I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) saying:“May Allah have mercy on those who shave their heads.”Then Imam Humaydi gestured with his hand in such a way that he spread out his right hand. The people said: O Messenger of Allah! (Pray) also for those who trim their hair. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:“May Allah have mercy on those who shave their heads.”The people said: O Messenger of Allah! (Pray) also for those who trim their hair. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:“May Allah have mercy on those who shave their heads.”The people said: O Messenger of Allah! (Pray) also for those who trim their hair. So the Prophet (peace be upon him) said:“(May Allah have mercy) also on those who trim their hair.”This time, Humaydi gestured with his hand but did not spread it as he did the first time. Sufyan says: I saw the narrator’s name written as“Marib”in my notes, and according to my memory, his name is“Qarib.”People also narrate him as“Qarib,”as I remember. However, I say that his name is either“Qarib”or“Marib.”
