Hadith Number: 852
حدثنا محمد بن يحيى ، قال: ثنا يعلى ، قال: ثنا ابو حيان ، عن الشعبي ، عن ابن عمر رضي الله عنهما، قال: خطبنا عمر رضي الله عنه على منبر رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فحمد الله واثني عليه ووعظ وذكر، وقال: اما بعد،" فإن الخمر نزل تحريمها يوم نزل، وهي من خمسة: من العنب، والتمر، والحنطة، والشعير، والعسل" ، والخمر: ما خامر العقل.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) delivered a sermon to us on the pulpit of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), praised Allah, and after giving advice and admonition, said: "To proceed! On the day when the command regarding the prohibition of wine was revealed, it was being made from five things: grapes, dates, wheat, barley, and honey. And khamr (wine) refers to anything that covers (removes) the intellect."

حدثنا عبد الله بن هاشم ، قال: ثنا يحيى بن سعيد ، عن مجالد ، قال: ثني ابو الوداك ، عن ابي سعيد رضي الله عنه، قال: لما حرمت الخمر، قلنا: يا رسول الله، إن عندنا خمرا ليتيم، فامرنا فاهرقناها" .

Hadith Number: 854
حدثنا عبد الله بن محمد بن عمرو الغزي ، قال: ثنا قبيصة ، قال: ثنا سفيان ، عن السدي ، عن ابي هبيرة ، عن انس بن مالك رضي الله عنه، قال: سئل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم عن الخمر تجعل خلا، فكرهه" .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about making vinegar from wine, so he disliked it.

Hadith Number: 855
حدثنا ابن المقرئ ، ومحمود بن آدم ، قال: ثنا سفيان ، عن الزهري ، عن ابي سلمة ، عن عائشة رضي الله عنها، ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: " كل شراب اسكر فهو حرام" .
Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every intoxicating drink is forbidden.

Hadith Number: 856
حدثنا عبد الله بن هاشم ، قال: ثنا يحيى بن سعيد ، عن قرة ، عن سيار ابي الحكم ، عن ابي بردة ، عن ابي موسى رضي الله عنه، قال: قلت: يا رسول الله، إن عندنا اشربة او شرابا من هذا البتع من العسل، والمزز من الذرة والشعير، فما تامرنا؟، قال: " انهاكم عن كل مسكر" .
Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I said: O Messenger of Allah! We have some drinks—taba‘, which is a wine made from honey, and mizr, which is a nabidh made from corn and barley—so what do you command us regarding them? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I forbid you from every intoxicating thing.

حدثنا محمد بن يحيى ، قال: ثنا مسدد ، قال: ثنا يحيى ، عن عبيد الله ، قال: ثني نافع ، عن ابن عمر رضي الله عنهما، قال: لا اعلمه إلا عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: " كل مسكر خمر، وكل خمر حرام" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every intoxicating thing is khamr (wine), and every khamr is forbidden.

Hadith Number: 858
حدثنا محمد بن يحيى ، قال: ثنا محمد بن عبيد ، قال: ثنا محمد هو ابن عمرو ، عن ابي سلمة ، عن ابي هريرة رضي الله عنه، قال:" نهى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ان ينبذ في المقير والمزفت والدباء والحنتمة والنقير، قال: " وكل مسكر حرام" .
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade making nabidh (fermented drink) in muqayyar (pitch-coated vessel), muzaffat (oiled vessel), dubba (gourd vessel), hantamah (old green jar), and naqir (wooden vessel), and also said: Every intoxicating thing is forbidden.

حدثنا محمد بن يحيى ، قال: ثنا محمد بن عبيد ، قال: ثنا محمد بن عمرو ، عن ابي سلمة ، عن ابن عمر رضي الله عنهما، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " كل مسكر خمر، وكل مسكر حرام" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every intoxicating thing is khamr (wine), and every intoxicating thing is unlawful.

حدثنا ابو الازهر احمد بن الازهر ، قال: ثني ابو ضمرة ، عن داود بن بكر بن الفرات ، عن محمد بن المنكدر ، عن جابر بن عبد الله رضي الله عنهما، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " ما اسكر كثيره فقليله حرام" .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with both of them) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whatever intoxicates in large quantities, even a small amount of it is forbidden.

Hadith Number: 861
حدثنا محمد بن يحيى ، قال: ثنا ابو عاصم ، قال: انا مهدي بن ميمون ، قال: ثنا ابو عثمان الانصاري ، عن القاسم بن محمد ، عن عائشة رضي الله عنها، قالت: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " ما اسكر منه الفرق فملء الكف منه حرام" .
Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whatever intoxicates in a large amount (one Faraq, i.e., 16 Ratl in weight), even a handful of it is forbidden.
