Ibrahim narrates that Hazrat Khabbab was a blacksmith; he would sometimes buy swords plated with silver. And sometimes he also mentioned the Mushaf.

Hazrat Sha'bi says that there is no harm in buying a sword adorned with jewelry in exchange for dirhams.

Hasan says that there is no harm in buying a silver-plated sword with deferred payment.

Ibn Sirin has considered it undesirable.

Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that once we were in the land of Persia. We received a letter from Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) in which it was written: "Do not sell a sword with a silver hilt in exchange for dirhams."

Hazrat Fadala bin Ubaid narrates that during the Battle of Khaybar, a necklace was brought to the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم which had gold attached to stones. A man bought it for nine or seven dinars. When he came to the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم and explained the whole matter, the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said that it is not permissible for you to buy it until you separate them. He said that his intention was only for the stones. The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said that this sale is not permissible until you separate the two. Then the man returned it, separated them, and then bought it.

Hazrat Shurayh was asked: If a gold bow is sold in which gems are set, what is its ruling? He replied: The gems will be removed and the gold will be sold according to its weight.

Ibrahim says that an item plated with gold or a sword cannot be sold with deferred payment.

Hazrat Ibn Sirin and Hazrat Qatadah say that there is no harm in selling a silver-plated sword, a silver-plated tray, and a silver-plated bowl in exchange for dirhams.

21394 - From Sa'id, from Qatadah, that they saw no harm in buying the silver-plated, the silver-plated tray, and the (silver-plated) cup (1) (with dirhams) (2).
