It is narrated from Hazrat Kardus (may Allah have mercy on him) that a young man was punished with the prescribed penalty due to drinking alcohol. Later, he gave testimony before Hazrat Shurayh (may Allah have mercy on him). He inquired about him from me. I said, "He is one of our good young men." So he accepted his testimony.

Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote to Hazrat Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) that if a drunkard repents, then accept his testimony.

Hazrat Sha’bi (may Allah have mercy on him) accepted the testimony of a person who had been subjected to the prescribed punishment (hadd) due to drinking alcohol.
