If Someone Borrows an Animal and Rents It Out, Who Gets the Rent?

٢٤٥٧٩ - حدثنا ابو بكر قال: حدثنا (عبيد الله) (١) قال: (اخبرنا) (٢) سفيان عن جابر قال: سالت الحكم والشعبي عن رجل استعار دابة فاكراها بدرهم، قال الحكم: الدرهم له.

Hazrat Jabir narrates that we inquired from Hazrat Hakam and Hazrat Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on them) about a person who took an animal on credit and then rented it out; so whose will the rent be? Hazrat Hakam said: The rent will belong to him (the one who took the animal on credit), Hazrat Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The rent will belong to the owner of the animal.
