It is narrated from Hazrat Munzir bin Abu Munzir. He says that I saw Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) drinking water from the Zamzam pool with his mouth attached to it, and he was standing at that time.

Hazrat Ammarah narrates about Hazrat Ikrimah that he disliked drinking water by putting his mouth directly to the canal.

It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him). He says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went to the house of a man from among the Ansar. That person was making a water channel for his garden, and he had a companion with him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you have any water that has been kept in a vessel or something similar since last night? Otherwise, we will drink directly (from the stream) with our mouths."

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both). He says that we passed by a water reservoir along with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). So we began to drink from it by putting our mouths to it, then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not drink by putting your mouth to it." Rather, wash your hands and drink with your hands. For there is no vessel more pure than the hand."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Uthman. He says that I returned with Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair on the evening of the Day of Sacrifice. Then he reached a cistern in which there was Zamzam water. So he made a cup with his hand, took water, and then drank from that cup.
