25922 - (I said) (1): "What kind of prohibition did he declare on it?" He said: "We discussed among ourselves and said: He prohibited it absolutely, or he prohibited it because it had not been subjected to khums (2)."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, on the day of (the battle of) Khaybar, declared domesticated donkeys to be forbidden.

Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri narrates from the Noble Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by some pots that were boiling. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to us: "Which donkeys are these: domesticated or wild?" We said, "No, these are domesticated donkeys." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Then overturn these pots." The narrator says: So we overturned them, even though we were in severe hunger and we desired that food.

It is narrated from Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair. He says that the meat of these donkeys and their milk is forbidden.
