Regarding a Small Amount of Wine: Is There a Punishment?

٣٠٢٨٢ - حدثنا ابو بكر قال: حدثنا حفص بن غياث عن الحجاج عن حصين عن الشعبي عن الحارث عن علي قال: (١) في قليل الخمر وكثيره ثمانين (٢).
ريفرينس و تحكيم الحدیث:
(١) في [هـ]: زيادة (يجلد).
(٢) ضعيف منقطع حكمًا؛ الحارث ضعيف، وحجاج مدلس.
Hazrat Harith narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The punishment for both a small and large amount of alcohol is the same number of lashes.

٣٠٢٨٣ - حدثنا ابو بكر قال: حدثنا سهل بن يوسف عن عمرو عن الحسن (١): في الخمر قليله وكثيره، وإن حسوة: فيها الحد.

Hazrat Amr states that it is narrated from Hasan Basri regarding a small or large amount of alcohol that even if it is a single sip, the prescribed punishment will be enforced.

٣٠٢٨٤ - حدثنا ابو بكر قال: حدثنا عبد الرحيم بن سليمان عن محمد بن سالم عن الشعبي قال: من شرب الخمر قليلا او كثيرا (ضرب) (١) (حدا) (٢).

(٢) في [جـ، ك، م]: (حُدّ).
Hazrat Muhammad bin Salim narrates that Hazrat Sha'bi said: Whoever drinks a small or large amount of alcohol, the prescribed punishment (hadd) will be imposed on him.

٣٠٢٨٥ - حدثنا ابو بكر قال: حدثنا محمد بن بكر عن ابن جريج قال: قال عطاء: إن شرب رجل من (المسكر) (١) ما بلغ ان يسكر؛ فقد وجب عليه الحد.

Hazrat Ibn Jurayj states that Hazrat Ata said: If a person drinks such an amount of an intoxicating substance that he reaches a state of intoxication, then indeed the prescribed punishment becomes obligatory upon him.

٣٠٢٨٦ - حدثنا ابو بكر قال: حدثنا معاوية بن هشام عن سفيان عن حصين بن عبد الرحمن يرفعه إلى عمر قال: من شرب من الخمر قليلا او كثيرا ضرب الحد (١).
ريفرينس و تحكيم الحدیث:
(١) منقطع؛ حصين لم يدرك عمر.
Hazrat Husain bin Abdur Rahman narrates that Hazrat Umar said: Whoever drinks a small or large amount of alcohol, the prescribed punishment (hadd) will be imposed on him.

٣٠٢٨٧ - حدثنا ابو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن ابن جريج عن عطاء قال: ليس في شيء من الشراب حد حتى يسكر، إلا في الخمر.
Hazrat Ibn Jurayj states that Hazrat Ata said: There is no prescribed punishment for any drink until it causes intoxication, except for wine.

٣٠٢٨٨ - حدثنا ابو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع (عن سفيان عن رجل) (١) عن إبراهيم قال: يضرب في الخمر في قليلها (او) (٢) كثيرها.

Hazrat Sufyan narrates from a man that Ibrahim said: For wine, whether in small or large quantity, flogging will be administered.
