Supplication Upon Returning from Travel

٣١٥٩١ - (١) حدثنا ابو الاحوص عن سماك عن عكرمة عن ابن عباس ان النبي ﷺ كان إذا اراد الرجوع - (يعني) (٢) - من سفره قال:" (آيبون) (٣) تائبون عابدون لربنا حامدون"، وإذا دخل على اهله قال:"توبا توبا لربنا اوبا لا يغادر علينا حوبا" (٤).

(٤) مضطرب، لأنه من رواية سماك عن عكرمة، وأخرجه أحمد (٢٣١١)، وابن حبان (٢٧١٦)، والطبراني (١١٧٣٥)، وفي الدعاء (٨٠٩)، وابن السني (٥٣١)، والحاكم ١/ ٤٨٨، والبزار (٣/ ٢٧/ كشف)، والبيهقي ٥/ ٢٥٠، وابن جرير في مسند علي من تهذيب الآثار (١٥٥)، وأبو يعلى (٢٣٥٣).
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to return from a journey, he would recite these words: We are those who repent, those who worship, those who praise our Lord. And when he entered upon his family, he would recite these words: We are repenting, repenting, returning only to our Lord; He will not leave any of our sins.

٣١٥٩٢ - حدثنا ابو اسامة عن زكريا عن ابي إسحاق عن البراء قال: كان رسول الله ﷺ إذا قفل من سفر قال:"آيبون تائبون عابدون لربنا حامدون" (١).

(١) صحيح؛ أخرجه أحمد (١٨٦٥٨)، والنسائي في الكبرى (١٥٣٨٣)، والترمذي (٣٤٤٠)، وابن حبان (٢٧١١)، وعبد الرزاق (٩٢٤٠)، ويعقوب في المعرفة ٢/ ٦٢٩، وأبو يعلى (١٧٢٩)، والطيالسي (٧١٦)، وابن قانع ١/ ٨٨، والطبراني في الدعاء (٨٤٢)، وأبو نعيم في الحلية ٧/ ١٣٢، والقزويني في التدوين ١/ ١٨٨.
Hazrat Bara’ narrates that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would return from a journey, he would recite these words: We are returning, repenting, worshipping, and praising our Lord.

٣١٥٩٣ - حدثنا عبد الله بن نمير حدثنا عبيد الله بن عمر عن نافع عن ابن عمر عن النبي ﷺ انه كان إذا رجع من الجيش او السرايا او الحج او العمرة قال: كلما اوفى على ثنية او (فد فد) (١) كبر ثلاثا ثم قال:"لا إله إلا الله وحده، صدق وعده، (آيبون) (٢) تائبون عابدون لربنا حامدون" (٣).

(١) سقط من: [أ، ب، ط].
(٢) سقط من: [ط، هـ].
(٣) صحيح؛ أخرجه البخاري (٣٠٨٤)، ومسلم (١٣٤٤).
Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that whenever the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned from any military expedition, or from any detachment, or from Hajj or Umrah, the narrator says, whenever he reached a mountain pass or a plain, he would say Takbeer three times, then recite these words: There is no deity except Allah, He is alone, He fulfilled His promise, we are those who return, those who repent, those who worship, those who praise our Lord.

٣١٥٩٤ - حدثنا ابو اسامة حدثنا عبيد الله عن نافع عن ابن عمر قال: كان رسول الله ﷺ ثم ذكر مثله او نحوه (١).
ريفرينس و تحكيم الحدیث:
(١) صحيح؛ أخرجه من طريق المؤلف مسلم (١٣٤٤)، والإسماعيلي في المستخرج (٣١٢٩).
The previous statement from Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) has also been narrated through this chain of transmission.

٣١٥٩٥ - حدثنا الفضل بن دكين حدثنا (١) سعيد بن عبد الرحمن عن يحيى بن ابي إسحاق عن انس بن مالك انه كان مع رسول الله ﷺ، فلما كان بظهر البيداء او الحرة قال (٢) رسول الله ﷺ:"آيبون تائبون عابدون إن شاء الله لربنا حامدون" (٣).

(١) في [جـ]: زيادة (إسمعيل).
(٢) في [ك]: زيادة (إسماعيل).
(٣) صحيح؛ أخرجه البخاري (٥٨٠٣)، ومسلم (١٣٤٥).
Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I was with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on a journey. Whenever the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed through a forest or rocky terrain, he would recite these words: "We are returning, repenting, worshipping, and, if Allah wills, praising our Lord."

٣١٥٩٦ - حدثنا هشيم اخبرنا العوام عن إبراهيم التيمي قال: كانوا إذا قفلوا قالوا: آيبون إن شاء الله تائبون، لربنا حامدون.
Ibrahim Taimi says that when the Companions would return from a journey, they would recite these words: "We are returning, if Allah wills, repenting, praising our Lord."
