Hazrat Alqamah narrates that Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When you people are in doubt about whether a letter is yaa or taa, then make it yaa. Because the Qur'an is masculine, so recite it as masculine.

Hazrat Amr bin Maisarah narrates that Hazrat Abu Abdur Rahman Al-Sulami said: When you differ regarding whether a letter in the Qur'an is a ya or a ta, then make it a ya. Verily, the Qur'an was revealed upon the letter ya.

Hazrat Zir narrates that Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When you begin to dispute about the letter "yaa" and the letter "taa" in the Qur'an, then make it the letter "yaa". And recite the Qur'an in the masculine form because it is masculine.

Hazrat Yahya bin Ja'dah narrates that Hazrat Ibn Mas'ud said: Recite the Qur'an in a masculine manner because it is masculine.
