Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair narrates that when Ibrahim (peace be upon him) saw in a dream the sacrifice of Ishaq (peace be upon him), he took him a distance of one month’s journey in a single day, until they reached the place of sacrifice in Mina. When Allah removed the sacrifice from them, he sacrificed a ram instead. Then, in one evening, they returned from a distance of one month’s journey; the valleys and mountains were folded up for them.

Hazrat Ka'b states that the fire did not burn anything except the rope of Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him).

Hazrat Ubaid bin Umair narrates that Hazrat Musa said, "O my Lord! You have mentioned Ibrahim, Ishaq, and Yaqub. How did You grant them this excellence?" Allah said, "Whatever was used to turn Ibrahim away from Me, he chose Me instead. And Ishaq sacrificed his own self for Me, so he is more willing to sacrifice other things. And however I tested Yaqub, his good opinion of Me only increased."

Hazrat Mujahid states under { وَأَذِّنْ فِی النَّاسِ بِالْحَجِّ } that when Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was commanded to proclaim Hajj, he stood up and said, "O people! Respond to the call of your Lord." So they replied, "Labbayk Allahumma Labbayk."

Mujahid, through another chain of narration, says in the commentary of { وَإِذَ ابْتَلَی إبْرَاہِیمَ رَبُّہُ بِکَلِمَاتٍ فَأَتَمَّہُنَّ }: That is, when they were tested through those verses which come after this verse.

Hazrat Sha'bi said under { وَإِذَ ابْتَلَی إبْرَاہِیمَ رَبُّہُ بِکَلِمَاتٍ } that among these words is also circumcision.

Ikrimah narrates from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) under { وَإِذَ ابْتَلَی إبْرَاہِیمَ رَبُّہُ بِکَلِمَاتٍ }, he said that there is no person who was tested in this religion and fulfilled that test except Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him).

Shu'bi narrates that Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the very first words which Ibrahim (peace be upon him) said after falling into the fire were: "Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal wakeel" (Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs).

It is narrated from Hazrat Saeed that Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was the first to show hospitality to a guest, and the first to perform circumcision, and the first to trim the nails, and to trim the moustache, and to remove the hair below the navel.

Yahya bin Saeed narrates from Hazrat Saeed that Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was the first to see white hair. He said, "O my Lord! What is this?" Allah said, "This is dignity." He said, "O my Lord! Increase me in dignity."
