٣٤٢١٢ - حدثنا حسين بن علي عن زائدة عن ابي حصين عن (سعد) (١) بن عبيدة قال: سال رجل ابن عمر عن عثمان فذكر احسن اعماله ثم قال: لعل ذلك يسوؤك؟ فقال: اجل، (فقال) (٢): ارغم الله بانفك (٣).

Hazrat Sa’d bin Ubaidah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that a man asked Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) about Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him): so he (may Allah be pleased with him) mentioned his good deeds; then he said: Perhaps you have a bad opinion about him? The man said: Yes! He (may Allah be pleased with him) said: May Allah abase your nose with dust.

٣٤٢١٣ - حدثنا (عبد الله) (١) بن إدريس عن محمد بن (٢) ايوب عن هلال بن ابي حميد قال: قال عبد الله (بن عكيم) (٣): لا اعين على قتل خليفة بعد (٤) ⦗٤٦⦘ عثمان ابدا، قال: فقيل له: (واعنت) (٥) على دمه؟ قال: إني اعد ذكر مساوئه عونا على دمه (٦).

Hazrat Hilal bin Abi Humaid (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Abdullah bin Ukeem (may Allah have mercy on him) said: After the martyrdom of Hazrat Uthman, I will never assist in the killing of a caliph. The narrator says that he was asked: Did you assist in his killing? He replied: Certainly, I assisted in his blood to the extent that I used to enumerate his faults.

٣٤٢١٤ - حدثنا ابو خالد الاحمر عن يحيى قال: سمعت عبد الله بن عامر يقول: لما (تشعب) (١) الناس في الطعن على عثمان قام ابي فصلى من الليل، (ثم نام) (٢) قال: (فقيل) (٣) له: قم (فاسال) (٤) الله (ان) (٥) يعيذك من الفتنة التي اعاذ منها عباده الصالحين، قال: فقام (٦) فمرض، قال: فما (رئي) (٧) خارجا حتى مات (٨).

Yahya (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I heard Abdullah bin Amir (may Allah have mercy on him) saying that when people began to have differing opinions regarding the criticism and reproach against Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), my father stood up and performed the night prayer, then he went to sleep. The narrator says: Then it was said to him: Stand up and ask Allah to protect you from this tribulation just as He protected His righteous servants from it. The narrator says that he stood up, then he became ill. After that, he was not seen outside until he passed away.

٣٤٢١٥ - حدثنا زيد بن حباب قال: حدثني معاوية بن صالح قال: حدثني ربيعة بن يزيد الدمشقي قال: ثنا عبد الله بن قيس انه سمع النعمان بن بشير ارسله معاوية بن ابي سفيان بكتاب إلى عائشة فدفعه إليها فقالت لي: انا احدثك بحديث سمعته من رسول الله ﷺ، قلت: بلى، قالت: إني عنده ذات يوم انا وحفصة ⦗٤٧⦘ فقال:"لو كان عندنا (رجل) (١) يحدثنا"، فقلت: (يا رسول) (٢) الله ابعث (إلى) (٣) ابي بكر فيجيء فيحدثنا، قال: فسكت، فقالت حفصة: (يا رسول) (٤) الله ابعث (إلى) (٥) عمر فيحدثنا، فسكت، قالت: فدعا رجلا فاسر إليه دوننا فذهب، ثم جاء عثمان فاقبل عليه بوجهه فسمعته يقول:"يا عثمان، إن الله لعله ان يقمصك قميصا، فإن ارادوك على خلعه فلا تخلعه" -ثلاثا، قلت: يا ام المؤمنين اين كنت عن هذا الحديث؟ قالت: انسيته كاني لم اسمعه قط (٦).

(٦) معلول، أخرجه ابن حبان (٦٩١٥)، والطيالسي (١٥٤٤)، وابن سعد ١/ ٤٦٨، والخلال في السنة (٤١٨)، وابن أبي عاصم في السنة (١١٧٢)، وقد خالف الجماعة معاوية بن صالح فقالوا: عبد اللَّه بن عامر بدل قيس، أخرجه أحمد (٢٤٥٦٦)، والترمذي (٣٧٠٥)، وابن شبه في تاريخ المدينة ٣/ ١٠٦٩، والطبراني في الشاميين (١٩٣٤)، وأخرجه بنحوه الحاكم ٣/ ٩٩، وابن ماجه (١١٢).
Hazrat Abdullah bin Qais (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Nu’man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Hazrat Mu’awiyah bin Abi Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him) sent him with a letter to Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), so he gave her the letter. Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: Shall I not narrate to you a hadith which I heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)? I said: Why not! Please do. She (may Allah be pleased with her) said: One day, Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her) and I were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said: I wish there was a man with us who would talk to us. I said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Should I not send for Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) so that he may come and talk with us? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent. Then Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her) said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Should I not send for Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) so that he may come and talk with us? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent. She (may Allah be pleased with her) said: Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called a man and, moving away from us, whispered to him, and then he left. Then Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) arrived, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned his face towards him. Then I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: O Uthman, perhaps Allah will clothe you with a shirt, so if some people want you to take it off, do not ever take it off. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said this three times. The narrator says: I asked, O Mother of the Believers! Why did you not narrate this hadith before? She (may Allah be pleased with her) said: It was made to be forgotten by me, as if I had never heard it.

٣٤٢١٦ - حدثنا عبيد الله بن موسى قال: اخبرني موسى بن عبيدة عن إياس بن سلمة عن ابيه ان رسول الله ﷺ بايع لعثمان (إحدى) (١) يديه على الاخرى فقال الناس: هنيئا لابي عبد الله يطوف (بالبيت) (٢) آمنا، فقال رسول الله ﷺ:"لو مكث كذا وكذا سنة ما طاف حتى اطوف" (٣).

(٣) ضعيف؛ لضعف موسى بن عبيدة، أخرجه ابن أبي حاتم في التفسير (١٨٥٩٦)، وانظر: تفسير ابن كثير ٤/ ١٩٢، وأخرجه ابن أبي عاصم في الآحاد (١٤٥)، والطبراني (١٤٤)، وابن عساكر ٣٩/ ٧٥، والروياني (١١٥٥)، وبنحوه ابن سعد ١/ ٤٦١.
Hazrat Iyas bin Salamah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that his father, Hazrat Salamah (may Allah have mercy on him), said: Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took the pledge of allegiance for Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) by placing his right hand over his other hand. So the people said: Abu Abdullah is indeed fortunate that he is performing tawaf of the House of Allah in peace. Upon this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Even if he were to stay for so many and so many years, he would not perform tawaf until I had performed tawaf.

٣٤٢١٧ - حدثنا عفان قال: ثنا حماد بن زيد عن يحيى بن سعيد عن سالم قال: قال عبد الله بن عمر: لقد عبتم على عثمان اشياء لو ان عمر فعلها ما عبتموها (١).
ريفرينس و تحكيم الحدیث:
(١) صحيح؛ أخرجه اللالكائي (٢٥٨٠).
Hazrat Salim (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Indeed, you people find fault with Hazrat Uthman for certain things. If Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) had done these actions, you would never have found fault with him.

٣٤٢١٨ - حدثنا عفان قال: ثنا وهيب قال: ثنا داود عن زياد بن عبد الله عن ام هلال ابنة وكيع عن امراة عثمان (قالت: اغفى عثمان) (١)، فلما استيقظ قال: إن القوم يقتلونني، فقلت كلا يا امير المؤمنين، (فقال) (٢): إني رايت رسول الله ﷺ وابا بكر وعمر، قال: فقالوا: افطر عندنا الليلة، او قالوا: (إنك) (٣) تفطر عندنا الليلة (٤).

(٤) مجهول؛ لجهالة أم هلال، أخرجه عبد اللَّه بن أحمد في زوائد المسند (٥٣٦)، وابن سعد ٣/ ٧٤، وابن شبه في تاريخ المدينة (٢١٦٠)، وابن عساكر ٣٩/ ٣٨٧، وأبو نعيم في تاريخ أصبهان (٥٧٦).
Hazrat Umm Hilal bint Waqi’ reports that the wife of Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) was dozing, and when he woke up, he said: Surely my people will kill me. So I said: Never, O Commander of the Faithful! Then he (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), Hazrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), and Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) in a dream. The narrator says that he said: Tonight you will break your fast with us, or he said: You will break your fast with us tonight.

٣٤٢١٩ - حدثنا محمد بن الحسن الاسدي قال: ثنا إبراهيم بن طهمان عن موسى بن عقبة عن جده ابي (حبيبة) (١) قال: دخلت الدار على عثمان وهو محصور، فسمعت ابا هريرة يقول: (سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول) (٢):"إنكم ستلقون بعدي فتنة واختلافا"، قال: فقال له قائل: فما (تامرنا؟) (٣) فقال:"عليكم (بالامين) (٤) واصحابه"، وضرب على منكب عثمان (٥).

Hazrat Abu Habibah, may Allah have mercy on him, says that I entered the house of Hazrat Uthman, may Allah be pleased with him, when the rebels had surrounded his house. Then I heard Hazrat Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, saying that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Soon after me, you will encounter tribulation and discord. The narrator says: A questioner asked: Do you command us to do anything? The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: It is obligatory upon you to obey the leader and his companions. And the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, placed his hand on the shoulder of Hazrat Uthman, may Allah be pleased with him.

٣٤٢٢٠ - حدثنا ابو معاوية عن الاعمش عن ابي صالح قال: كان إذا ذكر قتل عثمان بكى (بكاء) (١) فكاني اسمعه يقول: هاه هاه.

Hazrat A'mash (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Abu Salih (may Allah have mercy on him) said: When Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) used to mention the martyrdom of Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), he would begin to weep. It is as if I can still hear the sound of his sobbing.

٣٤٢٢١ - حدثنا ابو معاوية عن الاعمش عن خيثمة عن مسروق عن عائشة قال: قالت حين قتل عثمان: تركتموه كالثوب النقي من الدنس ثم قربتموه فذبحتموه كما يذبح الكبش، (إنما) (١) كان هذا قبل هذا، قال: فقال لها مسروق: (هذا عملك) (٢) انت كتبت إلى اناس تامرينهم بالخروج، قال: فقالت عائشة: لا والذي آمن به المؤمنون وكفر به الكافرون، ما كتبت إليهم (بسوداء) (٣) في بيضاء حتى جلست مجلسي هذا (٤).

(١) كذا في النسخ، وفي أخبار المدينة (٢١٥٥): (ألا)، وفي طبقات ابن سعد ٣/ ٨٢: (هلا)، وفي الاعتقاد للالكائي (٢٥٧٩): (فهلا).

(٤) صحيح.
Hazrat Masruq (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that when Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) was killed, at that time Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "You people have abandoned him just as filth is abandoned on a clean garment. Then you brought him close and slaughtered him as a ram is slaughtered. Why did this not happen before?" So Hazrat Masruq (may Allah have mercy on him) said to her: "This happened because of your action, that you wrote letters to the people ordering them to rebel!" The narrator says: Upon this, Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "No! By the One in whom all believers have faith and with whom the disbelievers disbelieved, I have not written anything with black (ink) on white (paper) until I sat in my place." Imam A'mash (may Allah have mercy on him) says: Thus, their opinion was that all this was written on her tongue.
