٣٥٢٢٠ - حدثنا عيسى بن يونس عن الاوزاعي عن سعيد بن جبلة عن طاوس ان النبي ﷺ قال:"إن الله بعثني بالسيف بين يدي الساعة، وجعل رزقي تحت ظل رمحي، وجعل الذل والصغار على من خالفني، ومن تشبه بقوم فهو منهم" (١).

(١) مرسل؛ طاوس تابعي، أخرجه ابن المبارك في الجهاد (١٠٥).
Hazrat Tawus (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Surely Allah Almighty has sent me with the sword before the Day of Judgment, and Allah Almighty has placed my sustenance under the shadow of my spear. And Allah Almighty has destined humiliation and disgrace for the one who opposes me. And whoever imitates a people, then he is among them.

٣٥٢٢١ - حدثنا وكيع ثنا سفيان عن الاوزاعي عن سعيد بن جبلة عن طاوس قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ، ثم ذكر مثله (١).

(١) مرسل؛ طاوس تابعي.
This statement of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, is also narrated from this chain by Hazrat Tawus, may Allah have mercy on him.

٣٥٢٢٢ - حدثنا وكيع قال: ثنا سفيان عن ابي إسحاق عن ابي الخليل عن علي قال: كان المغيرة بن شعبة إذا غزا مع النبي ﷺ حمل معه رمحا، فإذا (رجعنا) (١) طرحه كي يحمل له فقال (له) (٢) علي: لاذكرن هذا للنبي ﷺ فقال: لا تفعل، فإنك إن فعلت لم ترفع ضالة (٣).

(٣) حسن؛ أبو الخليل صدوق، أخرجه أحمد (١٢٧١)، والنسائي (٥٨٠٧)، وابن ماجه (٢٨٠٩)، وأبو يعلى (٣١١)، والضياء (٥٨٦)، وابن جرير في مسند علي من تهذيب الآثار (٣٦).
Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that whenever Hazrat Mughirah bin Shu’bah (may Allah have mercy on him) went on a campaign with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he would keep a spear with him. When he returned, he would throw it away so that someone might pick it up thinking it belonged to him. Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I will certainly mention this matter before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Upon this, he said: Do not do so, because if you do, lost items will not be picked up.

٣٥٢٢٣ - حدثنا وكيع قال: ثنا مصعب بن سليم قال: سمعت انس بن مالك (يقول: إن ابا موسى اراد ان يستعمل البراء بن مالك) (١) فاتى فقال له البراء بن مالك: اعطني سيفي (وترسي) (٢) ورمحي (٣).

(٢) في [أ، ب]: (وبرنسي)، وفي [هـ]: (قوسي).
(٣) صحيح.
Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Hazrat Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah have mercy on him) intended to appoint Hazrat Bara bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) as the leader, but he (may Allah be pleased with him) refused, and Hazrat Bara bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: Give me my sword, my shield, and my spear.

٣٥٢٢٤ - حدثنا وكيع قال: ثنا سفيان عن إسماعيل بن امية عن مكحول قال: إنما كانت الحربة تحمل مع النبي ﷺ ليصلي إليها (١).

(١) مرسل؛ مكحول تابعي.
Hazrat Ismail bin Umayyah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Mak'hool (may Allah have mercy on him) said: A spear used to be taken along with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) so that he (peace be upon him) could place it in front of him and perform prayer.

٣٥٢٢٥ - حدثنا ابو اسامة قال: ثنا مصعب بن سليم الزهري قال: ثنا انس بن مالك قال: لما بعث ابو موسى على البصرة، كان ممن بعث البراء بن مالك، وكان من (وزرائه) (١)، فكان يقول له: اختر عملا، فقال البراء: ومعطي انت ما سالتك؟ قال: نعم، قال: اما إني لا اسالك إمارة مصر ولا جباية خراج، ولكن ⦗٣٤١⦘ اعطني قوسي وفرسي ورمحي و (سيفي) (٢) و (ذرني) (٣) إلى الجهاد في سبيل الله، فبعثه على جيش فكان اول من قتل (٤).

Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that when Hazrat Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah have mercy on him) was sent as the governor of Basra, Hazrat Bara bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) was also sent with him. And he was among his ministers. Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say to him: "You should also choose some responsibility." Upon this, Hazrat Bara (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Will you give me the position that I ask from you?" He (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: "Yes!" He said: "Indeed, I do not ask you for the position of overseeing the city or collecting taxes, but you give me my bow, my horse, my spear, and my sword, and let me go forth to strive in the path of Allah." So he (may Allah be pleased with him) sent him as the commander over the army, and he was the first among them to be martyred.

٣٥٢٢٦ - حدثنا هاشم بن القاسم قال: ثنا عبد الرحمن بن ثابت قال: ثنا حسان ابن عطية عن ابي منيب الجرشي عن ابن عمر قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ:"إن الله جعل رزقي تحت (ظل) (١) رمحي، وجعل الذلة والصغار على من خالف امري، (ومن) (٢) تشبه بقوم (فهو) (٣) منهم" (٤).

(٤) ضعيف؛ عبد الرحمن بن ثابت ضعيف، أخرجه أحمد (٥١١٥)، وأبو داود (٤٠٣١)، وعبد بن حميد (٨٤٨)، والطبراني في مسند الشاميين (٢١٦)، والبيهقي في شعب الإيمان (١١٩٩)، وابن الأعرابي في المعجم (١١٣٧)، والذهبي في سير أعلام النبلاء ١٥/ ٥٠٩، وابن حجر في تغليق التعليق ٣/ ٤٤٥.
Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Surely Allah, the Lord of Honor, has placed my sustenance under the shadow of my spear. And Allah, the Lord of Honor, has destined humiliation and disgrace for the one who opposes my command, and whoever imitates a people, he is one of them.
