Returning Home at Night from a Journey

٣٥٨٩٥ - حدثنا وكيع قال: ثنا سفيان عن محارب بن دثار عن جابر قال: نهى رسول الله ﷺ ان يطرق الرجل اهله (ليلا) (١) يتخونهم او يطلب عثراتهم (٢).
ريفرينس و تحكيم الحدیث:
(١) في [ط، هـ]: (لئلا)، وفي [ب]: (ليلًا، لئلا).
(٢) صحيح؛ وقوله: (يتخونهم) مدرج، أخرجه البخاري (٥٢٤٣)، ومسلم (٧١٥).
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade a person from returning home at night after a journey, lest he betray them or seek out their faults and mistakes.

٣٥٨٩٦ - حدثنا يزيد بن هارون عن همام بن يحيى عن إسحاق (بن) (١) عبد الله ابن ابي طلحة عن انس ان رسول الله ﷺ كان لا يطرق اهله ليلا، وكان ياتيهم غدوة او عشية (٢).
ريفرينس و تحكيم الحدیث:
(١) في [جـ]: (عن).
(٢) صحيح؛ أخرجه البخاري (١٨٠٠)، ومسلم (١٩٢٨).
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would not return to his family at night when coming back from a journey; he (peace be upon him) would arrive either in the morning or in the evening.

٣٥٨٩٧ - حدثنا غندر عن شعبة عن الاسود بن قيس انه سمع (نبيحا) (١) العنزي عن جابر بن عبد الله قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ:"إذا دخلتم ليلا فلا يمات احد اهله طروقا"، قال جابر: فوالله لقد طرقنا (هن) (٢) بعد (٣).

(٣) صحيح؛ أخرجه أحمد (١٤١٩٤)، وابن حبان (٢٧١٣)، والطيالسي (١٧٦٨)، والترمذي (٢٧١٢)، والحميدي (١٢٩٧)، وأبو يعلى (١٨٤٣)، وأبو عوانة ٥/ ١١٦، وأصله في الصحيحين كما تقدم [٣٥٨٩٥].
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any of you returns from a journey, he should not come to his family at night. Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) says: By Allah, we used to come to them after the night had passed.

٣٥٨٩٨ - حدثنا معاوية بن هشام قال: ثنا سفيان عن حميد الاعرج عن محمد ابن إبراهيم التيمي عن ابي سلمة عن عبد الله بن رواحة قال: كنت في غزاة، فاستاذنت فتعجلت فانتهيت إلى الباب، فإذا المصباح يتاجج، وإذا انا بشيء ابيض (نائم) (١)، فاخترطت سيفي ثم حركتها، فقالت: إليك إليك فلانة، كانت عندي ⦗٥٢٣⦘ مشطتني، فاتيت النبي ﷺ فاخبرته فنهى ان يطرق الرجل اهله ليلا (٢).

(١) في [هـ]: (قائم).
(٢) منقطع؛ أبو سلمة لا يروي عن عبد اللَّه بن رواحة، أخرجه أحمد (١٥٧٣٦)، والحاكم ٤/ ٢٩٣، وعبد الرزاق (١٤٠١٩).
Hazrat Abdullah bin Rawaha (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I participated in a battle. I sought permission to return and hurried back, and upon reaching the door of my house, I saw that a lamp was lit inside and I saw a white thing lying down. I drew my sword, then moved it, and my wife said: "Go away, go away, so-and-so is with me and is combing my hair." Hazrat Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I presented myself before the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and informed him of this incident. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade that a man should return home at night from a journey.

٣٥٨٩٩ - حدثنا ابن نمير قال: ثنا عبيد الله بن عمر عن نافع عن ابن عمر قال: اقبل عمر بن الخطاب من غزوة سرغ حتى إذا بلغ الجرف قال: ايها الناس لا تطرقوا النساء ولا (تغيروهن) (١)، ثم بعث راكبا إلى المدينة بان الناس داخلون بالغداة (٢).

(٢) صحيح؛ أخرجه عبد الرزاق (١٤٠١٦).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was returning from the expedition of Sargh. When he reached the place of Juruf, he announced: O people! Do not enter upon them at night and in their unawareness. Then he sent a rider towards Madinah to inform that people will enter in the morning.

٣٥٩٠٠ - حدثنا عبد الرحيم بن سليمان عن عاصم الاحول عن عامر قال: قال: جابر بن عبد الله قال رسول الله ﷺ:"إذا طالت غيبة احدكم عن اهله فلا يطرقن اهله ليلا" (١).
ريفرينس و تحكيم الحدیث:
(١) صحيح؛ أخرجه البخاري (٥٢٤٤)، ومسلم (٥١٧) [١٨٣].
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you has been away from his family for a long time due to travel, he should not return to his family at night.
