Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to hold his left hand with his right during prayer.

Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: "Three things are from the practices of Prophethood: hastening to break the fast, delaying the pre-dawn meal (suhoor), and placing the right hand over the left during prayer."

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "We (i.e., the Prophets) have been commanded to hasten in breaking the fast, to delay the pre-dawn meal (suhoor), and to place the right hand over the left hand during prayer."

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "We, the Prophets, have been commanded to delay the pre-dawn meal (suhoor), to hasten in breaking the fast (iftar), and to place the right hand over the left hand during prayer."

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Placing one hand over the other during prayer is Sunnah."

Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Allah Almighty has stated: "So perform prayer for your Lord and offer sacrifice." Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) says: In prayer, the right hand should be placed over the left hand.

Qabeesah bin Hulb narrates from his father: "I saw the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) during prayer, placing his right hand over his left hand." The wording of both of them is the same.

Alqamah bin Wa'il Hadrami narrates from his father: "I saw the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) during prayer, placing his right hand over his left hand."

Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "It is Sunnah during prayer to place one hand over the other below the navel."

Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Among the Sunnahs of prayer is also this: the right hand should be placed over the left hand below the navel."
