Sayyiduna Abbas Jashmi narrates: The Noble Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) said: "Some imams are those who drive people away." The narrator of this narration, Qatadah, says: To the best of my knowledge, by "those who drive people away" are meant those who recite at length during leading the prayer, to the extent that people leave them and go away.

Ibn Sabit narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) performed the morning prayer, and he recited seven verses in it. Then he heard the sound of a child (crying), so he went into bowing (ruku‘). Then after that, when he stood up (for the second rak‘ah), he recited two verses and went into bowing (ruku‘).

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) would sometimes hear the cry of a child who was with his mother while he was in the state of prayer, so he (peace be upon him) would (recite a short surah and) go into bowing.

Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "Do not uncover your knees in front of anyone, and do not look at the knees of any living or deceased person (because the knees are part of the 'awrah)."

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) had a muezzin who would call the adhan in a melodious manner. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "The adhan is a matter of ease and gentleness. If you can call the adhan with ease and gentleness, then fine; otherwise, do not call the adhan."

Sayyiduna Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Whoever performs four rak'ahs after the 'Isha prayer, recites (Qur'an) in them, and performs their bowing and prostration well, that person will receive the reward for this prayer just as one receives the reward for performing these rak'ahs on the Night of Qadr.

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Women in menstruation and postnatal bleeding should not recite any part of the Qur'an."

Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A blind man came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! I hear the call to prayer, but sometimes there is no one to bring me along." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you hear the call to prayer, then respond to the call of the one who invites to Allah (i.e., come to the mosque to perform the prayer in congregation)."

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Appoint your best people as your imam, for they are representatives between you and your Lord."
