The same narration is also transmitted with another chain of narration from Mu'adh bin Jabal, may Allah be pleased with him, from the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him.

Musa bin Talhah reports: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) forbade the collection of zakat from vegetables.

The same narration is also reported with another chain of transmission from Musa bin Talhah, on the authority of Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him).

Abu Burdah narrates from Sayyiduna Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him): When the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) sent these two gentlemen to Yemen, they taught the people religious rulings (and said): "You should collect zakat only from these four things: barley, wheat, raisins, and dates."

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "No zakat is obligatory on any field (agricultural produce) until it reaches five wasq. When it reaches five wasq, then zakat becomes obligatory on it, and one wasq is equal to sixty sa’. And zakat on silver is not obligatory until it reaches five uqiyyah, and one uqiyyah is equal to forty dirhams."

Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No zakat is to be taken from crops (i.e., agricultural produce) until its yield reaches five wasq."

Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have exempted zakat on your (male and female slaves) and horses, but bring the zakat of your silver, agricultural produce, and livestock."

Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reports as a marfu' hadith to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Zakat is not obligatory on less than five wasq, and one wasq is equal to sixty sa'."

Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Zakat is not obligatory on less than five wasqs, and one wasq is sixty sa's."
