Amr bin Shu'aib narrates from his father, from his grandfather: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "There is no zakat obligatory on camels kept for domestic use."

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no zakat obligatory on cows kept for domestic use, however, for every thirty cows, one tabi‘ (a one-year-old calf) and for every forty cows, one musinnah (a two-year-old cow) must be given."

Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "There is nothing obligatory in a cow kept for domestic use." In another narration, the wording is slightly different.

Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "There is no zakat due on a cow kept for domestic use."

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: "There is no zakat due on an ox that is used for cultivation."
