Amr bin Harish narrates from Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both): The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) instructed him to equip an army, but the camels ran out. The narrator says: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) instructed me to acquire some camels in exchange for the camels of charity, so I bought one camel in exchange for two camels from the charity camels.

This narration is also transmitted with another chain; the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) instructed them to provide supplies for the army. When the camels became insufficient, he instructed us to obtain one camel in exchange for two camels from the camels of charity.

Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d Sa’idi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade selling meat in exchange for an animal. Among those who narrated this report with this chain from Imam Malik, Yazid bin Marwan is unique; he has not been followed in this regard. The correct version is that this narration is transmitted in the Muwatta of Imam Malik as a mursal narration from Sa’id bin al-Musayyib.

Saeed bin al-Musayyib reports: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) forbade selling an animal in exchange for meat. Ibn al-Musayyib reports: It has been prohibited to sell an animal in exchange for meat.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade selling an animal for another animal on credit.

Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sale of an animal in exchange for an animal as a deferred (credit) transaction.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with both of them) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade making a deferred sale in exchange for a deferred sale.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates regarding the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade trading one deferred payment for another deferred payment. The linguists have stated: What is meant by this is trading a deferred item for another deferred item.

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) reports: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the use of the price of a cat and a dog.

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade using the price of a cat. The word used in the hadith, "soor," refers to a cat.
