نا علي بن احمد بن الهيثم البزاز ، ومحمد بن جعفر المطيري ، قالا: نا عيسى بن ابي حرب ، نا يحيى بن ابي بكير ، نا عدي بن الفضل ، عن عبد الله بن عثمان بن خثيم ، عن سعيد بن جبير ، عن ابن عباس ، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:" لا نكاح إلا بولي وشاهدي عدل، وايما امراة انكحها ولي مسخوط عليه فنكاحها باطل" ، رفعه عدي بن الفضل، ولم يرفعه غيره.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“There is no marriage without a guardian and two just witnesses. If a woman is married by a guardian with whom she is displeased, then her marriage will be invalid.”The narrator named ‘Adi bin Fadl has transmitted this as a marfu‘ (attributed to the Prophet) hadith, while other narrators have not transmitted it as a marfu‘ hadith.

نا عبد الوهاب بن عيسى بن ابي حية إملاء، نا إسحاق بن ابي إسرائيل ، نا عبد العزيز بن محمد الدراوردي ، عن ابن الهاد ، عن محمد بن إبراهيم ، عن ابي سلمة ، قال: سالت عائشة كم كان صداق النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ازواجه؟، فقالت: كان صداقه اثني عشر اوقية ونش، قالت: هل تدري ما النش؟ هو نصف الاوقية، فذلك خمسمائة درهم" .
Abu Salamah narrates: I asked Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), "How much dowry did the Prophet (peace be upon him) give to his wives?" Sayyidah Aisha replied, "Twelve uqiyah and nash." Sayyidah Aisha asked, "Do you know what nash means?" It means half an uqiyah, and (the total amount of dowry) becomes five hundred dirhams. Imam Daraqutni has further narrated those traditions in which it is mentioned that the dowry cannot be less than ten dirhams.

نا سعيد بن محمد بن احمد الحناط ، نا يوسف بن موسى، نا عثمان بن اليمان ، عن داود بن قيس ، عن موسى بن يسار ، عن ابي هريرة ، قال:" كان صداقنا إذ كان فينا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عشر اواق، ويضرب بيده على الاخرى، فذلك اربعمائة درهم" .
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was among us, we used to give ten uqiyah as dowry, then he struck one hand over the other and said: "This is four hundred dirhams."

نا نا ابو علي المالكي محمد بن سليمان ، نا ابو موسى ، نا عبد الوهاب الثقفي ، عن يونس، عن الحسن ، ان معقل بن يسار زوج اختا له فطلقها الرجل ثم انشا يخطبها، فقال: زوجتك كريمتي فطلقتها، ثم انشات تخطبها، فابى ان يزوجه وهويته المراة، فانزل الله تعالى هذه الآية وإذا طلقتم النساء فبلغن اجلهن فلا تعضلوهن ان ينكحن ازواجهن سورة البقرة آية 232" ، هذا حديث صحيح اخرجه البخاري. عن ابي معمر، عن عبد الوارث، وعن احمد بن ابي عمر، عن ابيه، عن إبراهيم بن طهمان، عن يونس به.
Sayyiduna Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates: Sayyiduna Ma'qil bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) married his sister to a man. Her husband divorced her. (Ma'qil said:) "I married you to my (honorable) sister and you divorced her. Now again you have sent a proposal for marriage." Sayyiduna Ma'qil (may Allah be pleased with him) refused to marry his sister to him, but the woman wanted to marry that man. So Allah Almighty revealed this verse: "When you divorce women, and they have fulfilled their waiting period, do not prevent them from marrying their (former) husbands." This hadith is authentic. Imam Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) has narrated it from Abu Ma'mar, from Abdul Warith, from Yunus. In addition, Ahmad bin Abu Amr has narrated it from his father, from Ibrahim bin Tahman, from Yunus.

نا نا ابو بكر النيسابوري ، نا احمد بن حفص ، حدثني ابي، حدثني إبراهيم بن طهمان ، عن يونس بن عبيد، عن الحسن ، انه قال في قول الله تعالى:" فلا تعضلوهن ان ينكحن ازواجهن إذا تراضوا بينهم بالمعروف سورة البقرة آية 232، قال: حدثني معقل بن يسار المزني انها نزلت فيه، قال: كنت زوجت اختا لي من رجل فطلقها حتى انقضت عدتها، ثم جاء يخطبها، فقلت له: زوجتك وفرشتك واكرمتك فطلقتها، ثم جئت تخطبها لا والله لا تعود إليها ابدا، قال: وكان الرجل لا باس به وكانت المراة تريد ان ترجع إليه، قال: فانزل الله تعالى هذه الآية، فقلت: الآن افعل يا رسول الله فزوجتها إياه" ، وكذلك رواه عباد بن راشد، عن الحسن، وسعيد، عن قتادة ، عن الحسن ، عن معقل .
Sayyiduna Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates regarding the statement of Allah:“So do not prevent them from marrying their (former) husbands, if they agree with each other in a proper manner (to remarry).”Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Sayyiduna Ma’qil bin Yasar al-Muzani (may Allah be pleased with him) informed me: This verse was revealed about him. He had married his sister to a man. That man divorced the woman, until her waiting period (‘iddah) was over. Then that man sent a proposal to remarry her. So I said to him: I married (my sister) to you, made her your wife, honored you, and you divorced her. Now you have come again with a marriage proposal. No! By Allah, you will never get her again. Sayyiduna Ma’qil (may Allah be pleased with him) says: There was no other fault in that man, and the woman also wanted to remarry him. So Allah revealed this verse. (Sayyiduna Ma’qil [may Allah be pleased with him] narrates) I said: O Messenger of Allah! Now I will do as commanded. Then I married the woman to that man. ‘Abbad bin Rashid narrated similarly from Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him). Sa’id narrated from Qatadah, from Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him), from Sayyiduna Ma’qil (may Allah be pleased with him).

نا نا ابو بكر النيسابوري ، نا يزيد بن سنان ، نا ابو عامر العقدي ، ح ونا محمد بن عمرو بن البختري ، نا يحيى بن جعفر، نا ابو عامر ، نا عباد بن راشد ، عن الحسن ، حدثني معقل بن يسار ، قال:" كانت لي اخت فخطبت إلي فكنت امنعها الناس فاتاني ابن عم لي فخطبها فانكحتها إياه، فاضطجعها ما شاء الله تعالى ثم طلقها طلاقا له رجعة، ثم تركها حتى انقضت عدتها فخطبها مع الخطاب، فقلت: منعتها الناس وزوجتك إياها، ثم طلقتها طلاقا له رجعة، ثم تركتها حتى انقضت عدتها، فلما خطبت إلي اتيتني تخطبها مع الخطاب إني لا ازوجك ابدا، فانزل الله تعالى، او قال انزلت وإذا طلقتم النساء فبلغن اجلهن فلا تعضلوهن ان ينكحن ازواجهن سورة البقرة آية 232، فكفرت عن يميني وانكحتها إياه" ، المعنى قريب.
Sayyiduna Ma'qil bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I had a sister. Some people sent proposals for marriage with her, but I refused them. Then my paternal cousin came to me. He sent a marriage proposal for that girl, so I married her to him. They remained together as long as Allah willed. Then that man divorced the girl, in a way in which he had the option to take her back, but he did not take her back. Until her waiting period ('iddah) passed. After that, other people sent marriage proposals to her, and he (the cousin) also sent a proposal. So I said: I did not marry this girl to any of the other people, and I married her to you, but you divorced her in a way in which you had the option to take her back, but you did not take her back, until her waiting period passed. Now, when proposals are coming for her, you have also sent a proposal. I will never marry her to you. Then Allah Almighty revealed this verse (the narrator is unsure, perhaps these are the words): "When you divorce women and their waiting period is complete, do not prevent them from remarrying their (former) husbands." (Sayyiduna Ma'qil, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates) I offered expiation for my oath and married the girl to that man. The meaning of this narration is (close to) the same.

نا نا ابو بكر النيسابوري ، نا ابو الازهر ، نا روح ، عن سعيد بن ابي عروبة ، عن قتادة ، عن الحسن ، عن معقل بن يسار ، قال:" كانت لي اخت تحت رجل فطلقها، ثم خلا عنها حتى إذا انقضت عدتها، ثم جاء يخطبها، فحمى معقل عن ذلك، وقال: خلا عنها وهو يقدر عليها فحال بينه وبينها، فانزل الله تعالى وإذا طلقتم النساء فبلغن اجلهن فلا تعضلوهن سورة البقرة آية 232" .
Sayyiduna Ma'qil bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: My sister was the wife of a certain man. He divorced her, and her waiting period ('iddah) passed. Then that man sent a proposal for marriage, and Sayyiduna Ma'qil (may Allah be pleased with him) became angry at this. He said: He left this woman even though he could have taken her back. Sayyiduna Ma'qil (may Allah be pleased with him) became an obstacle between the woman and her former husband, so Allah revealed this verse: "When you divorce women and they have fulfilled their waiting period, do not prevent them from remarrying."

نا محمد بن مخلد ، نا عباس بن محمد ، نا محمد بن الصلت ، نا عبد الرحمن بن سليمان بن الغسيل ، عن عمته سكينة بنت حنظلة ، قالت: استاذن علي محمد بن علي ولم تنقض عدتي من مهلك زوجي، فقال: قد عرفت قرابتي من رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وقرابتي من علي وموضعي في العرب، قلت: غفر الله لك يا ابا جعفر إنك رجل يؤخذ عنك تخطبني في عدتي، قال: إنما اخبرتك لقرابتي من رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ومن علي وقد دخل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم على ام سلمة وهي متايمة من ابي سلمة، فقال: " لقد علمت انى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وخيرته وموضعي في قومي"، كانت تلك خطبته .
Abdur Rahman bin Sulayman narrates from his paternal aunt, Sakina bint Hantala: Imam Muhammad al-Baqir sought permission to enter my house, at a time when the waiting period (‘iddah) after my husband’s death had not yet passed. He said:“You are aware of my relationship with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), my relationship with Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), and my status among the Arabs (I wish to marry you).”I said:“O Abu Ja‘far, may Allah forgive you, people benefit from your knowledge, and you are proposing marriage to me during my ‘iddah?”So Imam Muhammad al-Baqir said:“I have informed you of my relationship with the Prophet (peace be upon him) and with Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). When the Prophet (peace be upon him) went to Umm Salamah (to propose marriage to her), she was observing her ‘iddah after the death of Sayyiduna Abu Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: ‘O Umm Salamah! You know that I am the Messenger of Allah and His chosen one, and you are aware of my status among my people.’ The words of the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) marriage proposal were these (and I have used the same words).”

نا محمد بن مخلد ، نا ابو وائلة المروزي عبد الرحمن بن الحسين من ولد بشر بن المحتفز، نا الزبير بن بكار ، نا خالد بن الوضاح ، عن ابي الخصيب ، عن هشام ، عن عروة ، عن ابيه ، عن عائشة ، قالت: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:" لا بد في النكاح من اربعة: الولي والزوج والشاهدين" ، ابو الخصيب مجهول واسمه: نافع بن ميسرة.
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Four things are necessary in marriage: a guardian, the husband (or wife), and two witnesses." The narrator Abu al-Haseeb Nafi' bin Maisarah is unknown.

نا نا ابو بكر النيسابوري ، نا محمد بن إسحاق ، نا روح ، نا ابن جريج ، اخبرني عبد الحميد بن جبير بن شيبة ، عن عكرمة بن خالد ، قال: جمعت الطريق ركبا فجعلت امراة منهم ثيب امرها بيد رجل غير ولي فانكحها فبلغ ذلك عمر " فجلد الناكح والمنكح ورد نكاحها" .
Ikrimah bin Khalid narrates: On the way, I met some riders, among whom was a previously married woman who entrusted her marriage matter to a person who was not her guardian (so that he could arrange her marriage). That person arranged her marriage. When this matter reached Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), he had the man who married and the man who arranged the marriage flogged, and he annulled the marriage of both (husband and wife).
