Sunan al-Daraqutni
الصَّيْدِ وَالذَّبَائِحِ وَالْأَطْعِمَةِ وَغَيْرِ ذَلِكَ

بَابُ الْمَنْعِ مِنَ الشُّرْبِ فِي آنِيَةِ الذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ وَلُبْسِ الْحَرِيرِ
Chapter on prohibition of drinking from gold and silver vessels and wearing silk

حدثنا عمر بن احمد المروزي ، نا سعيد بن مسعود ، نا عبيد الله بن موسى ، نا ابو حنيفة ، عن ابي فروة . 25 ح ونا الحسن بن سعيد بن الحسن بن يوسف المروروذي، يعرف بابن الهرش ، قال: وجدت في كتاب جدي ، نا محمد بن الحسن ، نا ابو حنيفة ، نا ابو فروة ، عن عبد الرحمن بن ابي ليلى ، قال: نزلت مع حذيفة على دهقان فاتانا بطعام فطعمنا، فدعا حذيفة بشراب فاتاه بشراب في إناء من فضة، فاخذ الإناء فضرب به وجهه، فساء بالذي صنع به، فقال: هل تدرون لم صنعت هذا؟، قلنا: لا، قال: نزلنا به في العام الماضي، فاتاني بشراب فيه فاخبرته، ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم" نهانا ان ناكل في آنية الذهب والفضة، وان نشرب فيهما، ولا نلبس الحرير، ولا الديباج، فإنهما للمشركين في الدنيا، وهما لنا في الآخرة" .
Imam Muhammad bin Hasan Shaybani, on the authority of Imam Abu Hanifa (may Allah have mercy on him), narrates the statement of Abdur Rahman bin Layla: I went with Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) to a farmer. He brought food to us, and we ate it. Then Sayyiduna Hudhayfah asked for water, so that person brought a drink to him in a silver vessel. Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) took the vessel and struck it on its mouth; he disliked this action of his. Then Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) explained: We came to him last year as well, and he brought a drink to me in this same vessel. I had told him that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade us from eating or drinking anything in gold or silver vessels, or from wearing silk or brocade garments. (The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said:) "These two things are for the polytheists in this world, but in the Hereafter, they will be for us."

حدثنا الحسين بن إسماعيل ، نا ابو حيدرة حيدون بن عبد الله ، نا يحيى بن إسحاق ، نا جرير بن حازم ، عن ابن ابي نجيح ، عن مجاهد ، عن عبد الرحمن بن ابي ليلى ، عن حذيفة ، قال: ونا يحيى بن إسحاق ، نا حماد بن سلمة ، عن حماد ، عن مجاهد ، عن ابن ابي ليلى ، عن حذيفة ، وكل واحد منهما قد دخل في حديث صاحبه، قال: سمعت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، يقول:" لا تشربوا في آنية الذهب، والفضة، ولا تاكلوا فيهما" .
The same narration is also transmitted with another chain, however, in it the words are: I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) saying: "Do not drink from vessels of gold and silver, and do not eat from them."

حدثنا ابو صالح الاصبهاني ، نا الحسن بن ابي الربيع ، نا وهب بن جرير بن حازم ، نا ابي ، قال: سمعت ابن ابي نجيح ، يحدث عن مجاهد ، عن ابن ابي ليلى ، ان حذيفة استسقى، فاتاه دهقان بإناء من فضة فاخذه فرماه به، وقال:" إن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم نهانا ان نشرب في آنية الذهب والفضة، وان ناكل فيهما، وعن لبس الحرير والديباج، وان نجلس عليه" .
It is narrated about Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once he asked for water to drink, so a farmer brought him water in a silver vessel. Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) took it and threw it away, and then said: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade us from drinking or eating anything in gold or silver vessels, and he also forbade us from wearing silk and brocade and from sitting on them.
