It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to return during the forenoon.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Rawahah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that once he returned from a journey at night and hurriedly went to his wife. He saw that there was a lamp in the house and there was a person with his wife. So he picked up his sword, but in the meantime, his wife said: Step back, this is such-and-such woman, she was combing my hair. Then he went to the Noble Prophet and related the whole matter. (Upon hearing this) the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade that a man should come to his family at night.
