It is narrated from Sayyiduna Khalid bin Walid (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: There was some dispute between me and Sayyiduna Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him), and I said some harsh words to him. Sayyiduna Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) went to complain about me to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). After him, Sayyiduna Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him) also went to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding the complaint and began to say harsh things about him, and the intensity of his words kept increasing. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was silent, not saying anything. Seeing this, Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) began to weep and said: O Messenger of Allah! Do you not see what he is saying? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his blessed head and said: Whoever harbors enmity against Ammar, Allah will harbor enmity against him, and whoever bears malice against Ammar, Allah will bear malice against him. Sayyiduna Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him) says: When I returned from the presence of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the most important and beloved thing in my eyes was that Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) should be pleased with me, so I went and met him, and he became pleased with me. Abdullah bin Imam Ahmad says: I heard this hadith from my father twice.

Amr bin Dinar narrates from a man of Egypt, who stated that Sayyiduna Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) sent gifts to some people and sent more and valuable gifts to Sayyiduna Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him). When he was asked about the reason for giving him such importance, he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say that a rebellious group will kill him.

It is narrated from Ata bin Yasar that a man came to the service of Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) and began to speak ill about Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyida (may Allah be pleased with her) said: As for Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), I will not say anything to you about him, but regarding Sayyiduna Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him), I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whenever Ammar is given the choice between two matters, he chooses the better and more rightly guided one.

(O Ammar!) A rebellious group will kill you."

It is narrated from Ikrimah, he says: Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said to me and my son Ali: Go to Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) and listen to hadith from him. So we went, and he was sitting in his garden. When he saw us, he gathered his cloak and came to sit with us and began narrating hadith to us (or conversing with us) until the mention of the construction of the (Prophet's) Mosque came up. He said: We were each lifting one brick, and Sayyiduna Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him) was lifting two bricks at a time. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw him, he began to dust the dirt off his body and said: "Ammar! Why don't you carry one brick like your companions?" He said: "I want to earn more reward from Allah." The Prophet continued to dust the dirt off his body and kept saying: "Alas! Ammar will be killed by a rebellious group; he will call them to Paradise, but they will call him to Hellfire." Upon hearing this, Sayyiduna Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I seek refuge with Allah from tribulations."

It is narrated from Salim bin Abi J'ad that Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) summoned some companions (may Allah be pleased with them), including Sayyiduna Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him), and said: I want to ask you something, and my intention is that you tell me the truth. I ask you by Allah: Do you know that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to give preference to the Quraysh over other people when giving something? And among the Quraysh, he used to give preference to Banu Hashim? Upon hearing this, the people remained silent. Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) said: If the keys to Paradise were in my hands, I would give the keys to Banu Umayyah until all these people entered Paradise. Then he sent a message to Sayyiduna Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him), and Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) said to them: Shall I tell you something about him (i.e., Ammar, may Allah be pleased with him)? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was holding my hand, and we were walking in Batha, until the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by Sayyiduna Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) and his parents, and they were being tortured for accepting Islam. The father of Sayyiduna Ammar (Sayyiduna Yasir, may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah! How long will this continue? The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: Be patient. Then he said: O Allah! Forgive the family of Yasir. (Although I know that) You have already forgiven them.

It is narrated from Hasan Basri that a man said to Sayyiduna Amr ibn al-As (may Allah be pleased with him): What is your opinion about the person whom the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) loved throughout his life—would he not be a righteous man? He replied: Why not. So the man said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) departed from this world, he had appointed you as his governor. Sayyiduna Amr ibn al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) said: He did appoint me as governor, but by Allah! I do not know whether he appointed me because of his love for me or to seek my help. However, I will tell you that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) departed from this world, he loved two men: one was Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) and the other was Sayyiduna Ammar ibn Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him).
