كِتَابُ النِّكَاحِ
Book of Marriage
بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي النَّهْيِ عَنْ أَنْ يَخْطُبَ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى خِطْبَةِ أَخِيهِ
Chapter: What is reported regarding a man proposing over his brother's proposal
Hadith Number: 647
نا عبد الرحمن بن ابي الزناد ، عن ابيه ، عن الاعرج ، عن ابي هريرة ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم , قال: سمعته يقول: " لا يخطب الرجل على خطبة اخيه حتى ينكح او يترك" .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No person should propose to a woman to whom his brother has already proposed, until he marries her or leaves her."

Hadith Number: 648
نا هشيم ، انا عوف ، قال: انا الحسن , قال: نبئت ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم , قال: " لا يخطب الرجل على خطبة اخيه، ولا يسوم على سوم اخيه" .
It is narrated from Hasan Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A man should not marry a woman who is already engaged to his brother, nor should he purchase over his brother's purchase."

Hadith Number: 649
نا نا يزيد بن هارون، عن حسين المعلم، عن عمرو بن شعيب، عن ابيه، عن جده،" تزوج امراة على خالتها , ففرق بينهما عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنه" .
A man married a woman in the presence of her maternal aunt, so Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) separated the two.
